Sirens blared everywhere, red and blue engulfing her sight as she lay on the burning ground, unable to move. Pain shot through her body, causing her to wince and cry out, stray tears leaking down her dirt-filled face. Fire danced around her body, her mind repeating the same words. Give up. She grits her teeth and squeezed her eyes shut, in pain as bruises and cuts littered her body, grey, puffy smoke running through her nose. Her hands clenched into fists as she cried out in pain at the burning feeling on her body, torturing her. Loud talking was all she could've heard before she was completely in darkness, her body limp and her skin, pale. The last thing she had remembered was the fire, that same fire that had killed her best friend and her family, haunting her. And now, it had come to kill her.

The woman's limp body lay on the ground, her body blotched with new scars, fresh, ugly bruises and something that had felt like a few broken bones. This had been the worst of her horrors. She had never wanted to die, she wanted to live, but how could've that happened if she wasn't possibly strong enough to continue? Her unconscious thoughts wondered through her head, frightening her at the possibilities. How had she gotten to that moment? How had she thought for once second, to give up? How did she feel that way when all she had wanted to do, is live? She didn't know, and she had thought it was better that way. But for now, for her, it was all peaceful, the quietness calming her and allowing her to feel like she once had, panicked. Panicked because she had imagined what her family's reaction would be, she simply cared too much for them, and it devastated her to see them in that state, because of her. Panicked, because she had always feared death. Panicked because she felt lonely. Panicked, because she wanted to carry on, but couldn't, as if she was bounded tightly in some sort of rope which choked her, scaring her. The idea of death, and her slowly travelling towards it, and her, had never gotten along. She hated it. She hated the thought of leaving, possibly leaving without even saying goodbye. And in years, she had felt utterly scared. Unable.

White flashing lights came into view, lights that had almost blinded her, which, honestly, hadn't made her mood lift at all. She had thought she escaped it all, for once hope sprouting in her heart which was instantly released when she had caught sight of that light.
'Do you reckon she's alive?' a soft voice had asked, seeming so close, yet so far away. Shuffling was heard, followed by a drowsy sigh.
'That would be a miracle, if she was. She had sustained many injuries and inhaled tons of smoke....' a dreamy voice replied, the sound of them talking, slowly drifting away and hanging onto the last word. Air filled her lungs once more as she had drawn in a sharp breath, struggling to keep onto that small bit of life she had left. It was too early, too early for her to leave the face of the earth completely. So she tried.
'Her heart's beating, prepare for the shock.' a deep voice had quickly said, their surprisingly soft voice, lacing slight panic. She felt her body jolt up in pain when sparks of electricity had ran through her body, shocking her and leaving her in a state of immense distress. Her breath slowed down, yet becoming more panicked when she felt her body being laid down, slowly.
'Don't move, ma'am, you're not in a state to, at the moment.' a woman had said, checking some sort of computer as a faint beeping sound had come into earshot.

She took in another sharp, hitched and painful breath, shutting her eyes tightly and clenching her jaw in the new wave of shocking pain that had hit her at that exact moment.
'Doctor, she's not in the right mind to be waking up this early, whenever this happens, the person has to always go in a comatose state!' a startled voice had shrieked, making her wince and attempt to cover her ears, which had failed miserably.
'Leave it, Miller. She just needs to stay here, there's no need for her going into a coma.' that same dreamy voice replied, yet, harsher. She weakly furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and, with difficulty, had opened her eyes, once again being blinded by that same light.
'She's awake - I mean her eyes are open!' someone had said next to her, the voice leisurely floating away.
'What did I tell you? Get away from her, she is too weak!' a snarling voice had snapped, obviously making the person next to her, jump in fright.
