"Hurry up, Carrie!" Fiona shouted.
Carrie, Fiona and Ben were all at the local library. Carrie wanted to check out a few books, and she just wanted to spend time with her friends before her busy day tomorrow; it was Alice's birthday.
"Patience, my friend," Carrie said as she walked up and down the rows of books, scanning for the right one. She scrutinized every book spine until she spotted a black one with red letters on it, "Dealing with Ghosts".
Carrie's eyes shone with eagerness as she removed the book from where it was nestled only a few moments ago. She opened the worn book and started to flip through its pages. Carrie added it to her pile of books, picked them all up with great difficulty, and wobbled to the check-out desk.
"Finally done, bookworm?" Ben came up next to her as the librarian checked out her books with annoyance and disgust.
"Yep! Finally," Carrie said, smiling and blushing. "You never go anywhere without a book."
When the trio was done, they dropped the books off at Carrie's house, then went on a walk through their small town. Carrie spotted a purple and gold caravan, and pointed happily at it as she ran towards the mysterious van.
"Hey! What are we about to enter?" Fiona asked, her unsure eyes scanning the dirty van.
"We're about to see a gypsie! I've always wanted to have my future told to me! Come on, let's go," Carrie knocked and slowly cracked the door open.

"Go! Go to him and set the trap, but only for the nighttime," The Infector hissed. "It will be very easy now. I figured out a way to make you alive without my spirit being inside of you,"
The doll blinked at its Infector. It understood. Actually, she understood. She was no longer an 'it'. She's alive now, very alive. And she was very happy.
The doll opened the window in the attic, climbed onto the roof and hopped down quickly to the ground. She took a look up at the open window. The Infector nodded. The doll turned away and ran off towards her future slave's house.

Megan and Ray were finishing up decorating the house.
Megan hung streamers and balloons everywhere. Ray covered the table in a pink table cloth and topped it with plastic plates and cups. They tied balloons to the mailbox, even though the party was tomorrow.
When they were finally done, Megan plopped down on the couch next to Ray and sighed. "Where's Alice?"
Ray turned on the TV. "Upstairs in her room reading a book, I think."
"Come on," Megan stood up. "Let's go be good parents and play with our daughter,"
"Jolly good idea, my dear," Raymond said in a fake British accent. He and Megan laughed and walked up the stairs to Alice's room when they noticed that the stairs had blood stains on them.
There was also a trail of blood to their room and into the bathroom. On the mirror was the word, "Happy Birthday" written in the thick, red blood.
"What the-" Megan bent down to see if the blood was real. It was, all right. It was fresh, too.
They looked at each other in confusion and disbelief. Then they remembered their sweet child.
"ALICE!" Both parents bolted to their child's room. They opened the door and were both surprised to see Alice, sitting on her bed and reading a book innocently.
"Yes, mommy and daddy?"
"Nothing, dear," Megan said, hugging Alice protectively. "I love you,"
Ray and Megan stayed with Alice a while longer, until they were sure she was perfectly safe.
When Ray and Megan came out of Alice's room, the carpet was not stained. The mirror was perfectly clean.
Everything was normal.
