It was a quiet night, and there was one person- er- half Mega Jaguar awake.
Kipo was dangling her slim legs off a tree, staring at the moon. The moons light was lighting up the tall girl's furry face.
Her fluffy tail swayed as she removed her gaze from the moon, looking over the temporary camp. She kept her Jaguar ears perked and alert.
Kipo's cat-like eyes scanned the ground below her, making sure that nobody was trying to do something sinister.
She sniffed the air and caught a scent, but a scent she knew and loved. Kipo's face lit up as she heard the other girl's grunts and efforts to make her way up the tree.
The shorter girl came into view, her wild hair sticking out from her wolf hood. Then she gazed softly at Kipo.
"What are you doing up this late?" Wolf asked, crawling herself over next to the furry girl.
Kipo smiled and looked at the ground again, her ears twitching, "Just in case Dr. Emilia or her minions come back."
Wolf sighed and rolled her cocoa eyes. Kipo has been on edge ever since the attack, but she has been more confident about attacking others. However, doesn't mean she likes to.
"Kipo, it's been a week, and there has been no signs that Dr. Emilia's still here." Wolf replied softly, hoping to make the other girl agree.
But Kipo just shrugged, "What if she's laying low? What if she's plotting something and she's gonna strike any moment now? I have to be on alert."
Wolf groaned and looked at her calloused hands, Kipo was starting to act and think like Wolf.
Wolf didn't like it at all.
For the past few days, Kipo has distanced herself from her friends and family to keep watch. Yeah, she eats, but on her perch.
Wolf misses the reckless and free-spirited friend she use to have, it's becoming more and more boring around here.
"Kipo.. just try to take some rest, ok? You haven't had a good sleep in a few days." The short girl put her hand on the furry shoulder.
Kipo shook her head and continued to look around for any danger. While Wolf didn't want to say this, she had no choice.
"What if, you go sleep, and I keep watch?"
Kipo's ears perked up tiredly and gazed at Wolf, and the shorter girl just realized how bad Kipo looked.
Her magenta cat eyes had bags under them, and she looked extremely tired. "You would do that for me?" She questioned quietly.
Wolf sighed and nodded with a small smile, "Yes."
The furry girl launched herself at the human one, wrapping her in a bear hug. "Thank you!"
Wolf chuckled when Kipo let go and started slowly, and very carefully climbing down the tree.
When Kipo had left, Wolf looked up at the moon and entered her thoughts.
