Jin was having a bit of a problem- his crush just called him.Out of context, this scene would be so domestic, holding a child's hand while calling their father? How cute.
And he had no idea what to do, but this right now is better than what he was doing beforehand.
—(flashback- ten minutes ago)———————
Jin was staring at his phone on his desk, hoping for it to turn blue with the name he wanted to see in large white print at the top. It doesn't look like it would happen though, so he got up from his desk and walked away, looking to help his students with memorizing their multiples.
Every so often he'd look back to his desk and sigh, hoping for the recognizable notification that was a call. Looking forward, he walked to Taehyung's table with his friends.
"Taehyungie, Jungkookie, Jiminie! Haw are you today? Are you having any trouble with your papers?" Jin would rather stay over here, the children at this table are so well behaved.
Two "No Mr. Kim" answers rang out, while waiting for the third, Jin looked at who didn't answer, it was Taehyung.
"Taehyungie, are you having trouble?" He asked in his sweetest voice.
Taehyung looked at his friends, who were busy coloring away, and made sure they weren't looking and nodded 'yes' to Jin.
"Okay sweetie, you wanna sit at my desk with me?" The words 'I can help you' were implied and not spoken aloud as to not embarrass the poor child. Taehyung's eyes brightened as he raced out of his chair and stood next to Jin and held his arms up in a "I want ups!" motion.
A small giggle left Jin's mouth as he picked up Taehyung with no (he had a little) trouble. Walking to his desk he sat Tae in his lap and started to help him with his maths.
All of a sudden his phone rings and he looks at the name.
Kim Namjoon
"OH FUCK" was the only thought in his mind, so he slowly turned to Taehyung.
"I'm sorry Taehyungie but I have to take this phone call. I'll help you when I'm done, okay?"
He grabbed his phone and pressed the answer button.
"Hello?"
—(present)———————————————
"Ah, Namjoon-ah? Did you mean to call me?" He said sweetly. He's not going to lie, he puts as much sugar into his voice as he can while speaking to Namjoon, whether it works or not he has no idea.
"Oh Seokjin-Sunbaenim, I'm so sorry! I pressed the wrong contact, I apologize! I really didn't mean to call you during the school day."
"Oh Namjoon-ah, please drop the formalities, just call me hyung if you'd like! But no please don't feel bad about it, it was an accident, I forgive you. Not that I minded anyway!" 'It was an accident? Aww this is definitely reality' Jin pouted on the inside, feeling foolish for believing that this could be Namjoon calling to talk on purpose.
"No please, I'm really sorry!"
"No don't even worry about it! It's okay."
"Mr. Kim is that daddy?" Yes he is- UH
"Taehyung-ssi, I'm sorry, what did you say? I'm on a phone call."
Namjoon just stayed silent, he was wondering if he made things turn for the worse when he heard Taehyung's name.
"Uh, Mr. Kim, I just want to say I'm sorry once again."
"Please Namjoon-ah its okay! It doesn't matter."
"It is daddy! Mr. Kim can I talk to daddy? Please please pleasepleasepleaaee!"
"Oh, you want to talk to daddy? Well if daddy doesn't mind." He left a questioning tone in his voice, even though his sentence was a statement in word choices. Unknowingly, he left a bewildered Namjoon speechless on the other side of the phone call, his choice of words, with a specific one in mind, left Joon in a trance.
'Did- did I just get called,,,,, d a d d y?'
"Um, Namjoon-Ah? You wouldn't mind if tae-tae were to talk to you, would you?"
"O-oh, no! Not at all, I don't mind!"
"Ah good, he seems pretty adamant about it, well I'll leave this to you."
Seokjin handed the phone to the toddler and watched as he babbled on to his father. The sweet child getting higher in pitch because he was so excited to hear his voice during the day when he usually couldn't. Jin was content just watching and listening to the tot, but a few words caught his attention.
"Daddy can Mr Kim come over to our house?"
'Oh. My. God. Taehyung you absolute WINGMAN!'
"Ah well, it all depends on if, well, if Seokj- I mean, Mr. Kim wants to come over, but I'm sure he might be too busy to do that!"
'Wait this is my chance! No I could seem too pushy if I try to actually go.'
"Um Taehyung-ssi, do you need extra practice with your multiples?""Yes Mr. Kim I do! Please help me! Daddy gets busy and I need help!" He jutted his bottom lip to make his adorable face even cuter.
'Oh no, the pout! I'll never survive this!'
"Oh Taehyungie, I'd love to help you with them! Of course it all depends on your father. But y'know, for the record, I'm always free on Wednesdays." A smirk in his voice was well heard as he directed the sentence seemingly towards Namjoon."Are you sure Mr. K- uh, Seokjin? I mean I could always help Taehyung myself."
"No daddy I want Mr. Kim to help me! Just Mr. Kim!" Taehyung whined into the receiver of the phone. His tiny fists clenched in anger and he started to demand to only have Seokjin teach him.
"Really Namjoon-ah, I don't mind at all. If he wants me to come I can totally come on Wednesday night, is that good for you?"
"Wednesday, is actually great...yeah I'm free on Wednesdays. I'm sure you can get my address from the school, uh, thank you for this Seokjin-Hyung."
"Of course Namjoon-ah, but between you and me, our little Taehyungie is my favorite pupil, so I'd be glad to do this. So, I'll see you on Wednesday at 18:00?" (6:00 pm)
"Yes, of course."
"Alright, it's a date."
