I threw a skeptical glance at the horses, dark with wings and no white irises; they were truly demonic.

"This is Mel...well that's not really her name, but to save you the stress of her weird ass name, call her Mel." She pats the horse on her left, "My favorite," a smile comes to her lips.

I press my lips concluding I'll be riding the other horse, "Philip," she says to me when she notices my stare on the other horse. "You can ride this. Anyway, we should leave now before my brother dearest begins to wonder where you are." She rolls her gold iris before mounting the horse gracefully.

I struggle a bit to mount mine and a smug look passes her face, "Hey! Where I come from, we have things called cars—don't judge me," I say and a laugh leaves her lips.

The stable boy assists me and I smile at him, Korina rides by my side as we pass the castle and go down to town according to her—we made a stop at the town market, truly Dapphion was beautiful, with tall trees with different hues in the sky, it isn't too different from the human realm. That doesn't change my will to return home despite how beautiful this world is.

We stop in front of a jewelry dealer and Korina stares at the bangles and earrings longingly, "You want it? Get it. Come on, you have to show me everywhere!" I practically beg, this isn't enough to show me how I'll leave here.

I don't want anything to do here, sometimes I wonder why nobody ever truly destroyed all demons.

She sighs. "I made a deal with someone that I wasn't going to buy any more golds—can you believe some things I have too much jewelry just because I buy every day?" I send an awkward smile because it's really not my business, but instead of being rude, I smile as if I can't believe it either.

"Next week." She says before resuming our tour, she showed the town library where the kingdom's history lives—we only turned back when Korina claimed she could hear my stomach crying for food, which is embarrassing.

My stomach hates me, it found ways to embarrass me at the slightest chance it got.

When we arrive at the castle, my eyebrows raise when I see maids and guards running around with panicked expressions.

"The lord is angry!" Korina and I hear a maid whisper to another, "Not even Avi who thinks she's a supreme maid escaped his wrath!" There's mockery in her voice.

Korina and I exchanged glances before we both alighted the horses, "You don't think he is angry because you're missing right?"

"I'm not missing. I don't think that's why." I say feeling a chill creep my back as the sky begins to turn a darker shade.
