Smiles cover late nights

Eyes hide broken pieces

Laughter smooths over tear stained faces

A joke to hide the cracks in my armor

A well placed giggle to turn eyes away from my weakness

Strangers and confusion

Thinly veiled secrets

Unburied fears

Did it have to happen then

Did i have to break so easily

Did they realize that i have no one else

Did i know what i was going to do

A smile to hide the pain

A laugh to cover my shaking voice

The pencil hides my shaking hands

Im broken

I'm in a million pieces

If i hadn't told you...

You wouldn't know
