"Are you sure , Buck?" She smiled to her friend widely as Steve stood behind her, also smiling. It was Friday night , which meant Steve's and Y/n's date night , which meant Bucky had to watch the woman he loved embracing his best friend.
They always invited him along, they just wanted to protect him, make sure he was adjusting well. His nightmares were bad recently and she worried about him, hence her being so persistent.
"Positive" Bucky nodded, a saddened tone to his voice although not one that noticeable she picked up on it because she always did, because she was perfect like that.
"Come on Buck, please it'll cheer you up" she pressed. Her gorgeous smile being painted a classy pink nude, highlighting her lips, how he longed to kiss them.
"Y/n I promise you I'll be okay. Have a magical Friday night" he chuckled slightly. She sighed standing up, giving up.
"Fine" she huffed. "I'll bring you something back, you can't argue that" she pointed at him a playful grin planted on her face. He just chuckled at her, falling in love with her more by the second.
" I wouldn't dare" he smiled at her.
"New lipstick?" Steve asked as he also noticed her lips.
" yes actually" she responded delighted he'd noticed. " it's called pink lemonade which I don't really see but it's really pretty" she told him.
"Almost as pretty as you" he and Steve both spoke, however Bucky spoke it under his breath in the hopes she wouldn't hear him.
She smiled but rolled her eyes. "Massive cheese fest" she joked her hand lacing with Steve's. "Are you sure buck?" She tried one last time.
"Y/n" Bucky warned.
"Okay okay" she smiled leaving with Steve.
He went to the window to watch them leave, a minute later they walked out the main door of the apartment block. He saw Steve kiss her both wide smiled and so visibly in love. He sighed. He wasn't used to this. As much as he was happy for his best friend eighty years ago he'd be the one going on dates although he didn't miss Connie, he was just infatuated with her.
"Pink lemonade" he shrugged. Now wanting pink lemonade he left the apartment. He knew there was a newsagents past his favourite diner. Walking the streets of New York, getting to odd disapproving looks from people because of his messy look.
Looking in the window of his favourite diner he saw y/n and Steve although they were arguing, he couldn't hear what about but it seemed pretty serious. He shook it off , it wasn't his business.
Entering the newsagents picking up a paper and a bottle of pink lemonade he walked home. Looking back in the diner he saw they're table empty. "Shit" he cursed he wasn't allowed out the apartment.
Pushing the door open, y/n embraced him worried. "Bucky, good grief you had me in stitches" she held onto him tightly.
"I'm fine , Doll just went to the shop" he hugged her back. She moved back and showed the paper and bottle of pink lemonade.
"Pink lemonade?" She questioned, a puzzled look. "I've never seen you drink it before" she observed.
"I wanted it after you mentioned it" he smiled. "Do you want some?" he offered fetching a glass from the cupboard. She nodded slightly and sat at the dining room table, he sat opposite her placing her glass in front of her.
"Thank you" she nodded. They were quite for a minute just enjoying each other's company.
"What were you and Steve arguing about?" He asked looking up from the paper. She let out a soft chuckle looking at him.
"I saw you" she smiled. "I was wondering when you'd ask" she added. "We were arguing about you" she told him honestly.
"Me?" Bucky asked surprised.
"Yes" she confirmed. "It's no big deal really" she told him his face full of concern. "Steve will realise he's wrong eventually, trust me" she reassured him.
" what about?" he asked concerned.
"Steve just thinks you should get your own place soon, I objected" she told him shrugging.
"Why? Surely you want your apartment back" Bucky pointed his drink half empty.
"I hear you scream, when you sleep" she told him. "I just want you to know you're safe again and hydra can't get you Bucky" she sighed helplessly. "I really care about you" she admitted. "And either Steve doesn't realise you're not the same Bucky you we're eighty years ago or he thinks you're fine now" she spoke with frustration in her voice.
"Oh Doll" Bucky sighed, more in love with her than he'd ever been.
"I know it's silly, but I do" she shuffled her feet.
"I think it's cute" Bucky reassured.
"You can't say that" she giggled her heart rate picking up. He leaned across the table a kissed her. He had no idea where he got the sudden confidence from. She moved back startled. "BUCKY!" She protested, leaping out her chair.
"Sorry" he panicked leaping out his chair.
"I'm dating your best friend!" She cried.
"Sorry!" He repeated. Approaching her, cautiously. Her hands ran through her hair as if she was thinking hard and long about what to do. "Y/n I'm really sorry, I don't know why I did it" he panicked. She grabbed the side of his face slamming her lips against his.
"You taste like pink lemonade" she whispered her lips still close to his.
