I stretched out my arms and checked my room.Books were stacked and my clothes were all over the floor. The engagement party is already tonight and I still can't decide what to wear.
Hinawi ko lahat ng gamit sa higaan. Napahiga ako in frustration. This is killing me.
A knock on the door made me come back to my senses.
"Hey, Kylue. Ready ka na ba? Your mom's waiting downstairs." It was my dad who talked. I rolled my eyes and stood up lazily while checking out some of my new clothes.
I should just wear something formal. Something like a suit. I should just pick out random suits.
I grabbed whatever was near and wore it instantly, nabawi naman 'ata dahil sa mukha ko.
"Kylue, what the fuck are you doing? Your fiancee is already waiting downstairs. Lumabas ka na!" My mom was banging on my room's door.
I sighed before talking slowly.
"Lalabas na." I rolled my eyes again.
"Better be fast, ayokong paghintayin ang fiancee mo."
I opened the door and my mom eyed me from head to toe.
"Seriously? 27 ka na Kylue, you still don't know how to do your tie?" she was so pissed that her face was already so red.
"Honey, stop nagging your son. Malaki na siya." inawat ni Dad si Mom.
"Whatever! Bumaba ka na." nanggigigil na sabi ni mama.
"Son, are you really fine with this?" my dad asked me while stroking my back.
"I don't care kahit sino papakasalan ko."
It wasn't true.
"Tell me kung ayaw mo, you can still change your mind. I'll give you a week."
"Dad, nothing can change my mind." I laughed a bit.
It was a lie.
"Okay, whatever you say." he shrugged.
Bumaba kami sa hagdanan and I saw lots of people around the house, they were all talking. Busy with their wines and businesses.
"So, where's the girl?" I asked dad.
"Somewhere here. Hanapin mo nalang, naka red daw." my dad yawned a bit, he was bored by the party.
"Thanks dad." I put my hands in my pocket and lazily walked around.
"Hey bro!" somebody approached me. It was JD with his three sons also in cute suits.
"Oh god, mga inaanak ko." I squatted to reach the three small bears.
"Tito Kylue, the airplane you gave me flew away." the youngest, JV told me while his eyes were welling with tears.
"Bibilhan kita ulit, wag ka na mag cry." I pinched his cheeks gently.
"Tito Kylue, what's the purpose of this boring party?" nakangunot noong sabi ni Virius. The oldest.
"Yep, very boring. Full of unknown people." nakangiwi namang sabi ni Dari. I can't believe he's still 4.
"Bibilhan ko kayo ng toys, ano?" I told them.
"Not interested, give me books. The books I have at home are already old and too used." Virius rolled his eyes.
"Fine I'll buy you whatever you want." I smiled when they all finally smiled.
"Hey, ano ba yan. Stop spoiling them." It was Yela with their daughter, Haven.
