Christmas,

Christmas is a time for family and friends.

Well, that is what Chaeyoung thought until she received her schedule for December 25th, 2022

All she wanted to do on that Sunday was to see her family and spend the night snuggled up in front of the fireplace with her girlfriend, Mina

Disappointment was present on Chaeyoung face, after reading the email from her manager. She loves to see ONCE every chance she gets, but the impromptu concert that was planned for the next day ruined her date with her family and girlfriend. Chaeyoung quickly rang her mother, being 5 in the morning, her mother was not the happiest to she her daughter calling as she thought something bad had happened.

She quickly explained that she and Mina would not be attending tomorrow nights feast as they had a concert. Her mother was sad but tried to not let Chaeyoung hear her disappointment. She had not seen her daughter for 4 months as they were on tour and then doing variety shows so Chaeyoung had not been able to go home for a break.

Chaeyoung knew her mother was disappointed, but she could not do anything about the concert.

Chaeyoung then thought about her girlfriend, Mina.

They met when they were trainees when Mina came from Japan to Korea. They hit if off right away but did not start dating up until the 'TT' era. The endless flirting back and forth took years before making it official, neither of them making the 'first move' until Dahyun, Chaeyoung best friend, told her to grow some balls and tell Mina how she felt.

So, she did.

She asked Mina to meet her out in the garden one balmy afternoon and Chaeyoung had set up a picnic with all of Mina's favourite Japanese foods (that she, and with the help of Sana, made). Mina was so shocked that Chaeyoung had done all this, not knowing the reason behind the picnic.

Chaeyoung opened the basket full of food and pulled everything out.

They sat in a comfortable silence as they ate, occasionally making eye contact and blushing when the other had caught them staring.

Chaeyoung mind was running wild, trying to think of a way to tell Mina her true feelings.

"Mina unnie?" Chaeyoung said, getting the older one's attention.

"Yeah Chae?" Mina countered back with a smile on her face.

"I have something to tell you but I'm not sure how you are going to react"

"Okay? Just tell me, you look like your about to throw up"

Chaeyoung did not know whether to just blurt it out or what? Her heart was pounding, her mind was muddled with different ways this conversation would end. Would it end in Mina running away and not wanting to see Chaeyoung again? Or in the way Chaeyoung hopes it will end, with Mina saying she feels the same way?

"I'm just going to say it, I'm in love with you Mina" Chaeyoung spoke softly, one single tear fell from her eye down to her cheek.

Mina just stared blankly at her, never in her wildest dream would she think that Chaeyoung confess that to her, even though she had hoped that she would feel the same ever since she meet the younger girl.

Chaeyoung started to feel more nervous as Mina just looked at her in silence.

"Mina?" She questioned, feeling more tears fall from her eyes.

"You do?" Mina whispered, with a smile on her face and tears welling up in her eyes.

"Yeah unnie, I have always felt the attraction towards you since I met you and I knew that it was different then how I felt for the other girls. Throughout the years, those feelings grew, into what they are today. I understand if you don't feel the same way, just give me time before I can start being your friend again." Chae never made eye contact with Mina while she confessed.

"I don't what to be your friend Chae" Mina saw the youngers face drop, Chaeyoung not getting what Mina meant by that statement. As Chae got up to go back to her room, to cry into her pillow, Mina pulled her by the wrist and on top of her, quickly giving her a peck on the lips. Chaeyoung was now very confused abut the situation now.

"I want to be your girlfriend Chae" Mina quickly kissed her again, for a bit longer this time as this is their first 'real kiss'. Mina could feel Chaeyoung smile through the kiss, which also made Mina smile.

Chae was the first one to pull back, smiling ear to ear.

"Are we dating now?" Chae said quietly, her forehead resting on the older girl.

"Yes" Mina said while sitting up and putting Chaeyoung on her lap.

And that is how Mina and Chaeyoung became 'MiChaeng'

They then came out during the 'What is Love?' era after talking to JYP and going through all the difficulties they would face and asked for permission to come out before the dating ban had ended. JYP accepted the two from the start and knew that both girls had feelings for each other. He told the girls that they would face a lot of discrimination for coming out but both girls knew the consequences. The rest of TWICE supported the girls in whatever decision they made and thought that they were very brave to do this.

They did receive hate for the controversial concert 'interruption', during 'One in a Million', Mina and Chaeyoung were singing to each other, holding hands and at the end of the song, kissed and announced they were dating which caused the crowd to go wild and chant 'MICHAENG'.

They became the first couple of TWICE, followed by Nayeon and Jeongyeon who stopped acting like a couple and finally became one and Sana and Dahyun, Sana making the first move after years of flirting.

They were known round the world as LGBTQ+ Icons, still making music that everyone loved.

Mina walked into Chaeyoung and her room seeing the younger one sitting on their bed with a smile on her face. She was confused why she had a smile if she had read what was sent to the girls.

"Why the smile babe?" Mina questioned

"Just thinking how we became what we are now, us together." Chaeyoung gestured for Mina to sit on her lap, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend and holding her close. Mina turned around so she was straddling Chaeyoung, pushed her on the bed for some much-needed cuddling.

"I spoke to JYP-nim after I got the email, I asked if we could do 'The Best Thing I Ever Did' as the encore stage." Chaeyoung broke to cuddle session to look her girlfriend in the eyes, something she would never get bored of.

"How come you want to do it last?" Mina asked, snuggling into the younger's neck.

"So, we could end the concert on a high" Chaeyoung was hoping that Mina would not catch on to the hidden meaning.

Chaeyoung knew that they were both too young to get married now but she had prepared to give Mina a promise ring, as a promise that would get married in the future. Chaeyoung had even asked Mina's parents for the blessing, wanting them to trust that their daughter was in good hands.

Chaeyoung had asked all the girl is it was okay to do it at the concert and all the girl were so happy for the couple, being one of the youngest couples of the group, being wise beyond their years. 

This one-shot when I wrote it was over 2,000 words so I split into two parts
