Butterflies 'a fluttering and nauseous sensation felt in the stomach when one is nervous'

Seulgi felt these constantly, the swirling of butterflies in her stomach. Because of her unnie Bae Joohyun, commonly known as Irene. She has been feeling like this ever since their SM Rookies duet 'Be Natural' and how close they had to be for the performance. Sure, she had an attraction to the older girl, but nothing had progressed until the performance.

Seulgi slowly started to fall for the girl with everything Irene did. The way she laughed, the way she smiled at Seulgi, how she would be mostly affectionate towards Seulgi, the list goes on.

The girls had just released 'Power Up' and they were performing stages and doing fan signings which kept the girls busy. Seulgi could not contain her feelings anymore and she needed to do something about them. She knew she could not tell Irene her feelings, not wanting to ruin the groups cohesion so she decided to write her feelings down and it ended up turning into a song, changing a few minor details.

Seulgi now feels relief after pouring her feelings across the page, a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. But what she did not know was that Wendy was just outside the little room Seulgi was in and heard everything. Wendy had an inkling that Seulgi felt something for the older girl but after listening to the song, she now knows it is way more than that.

Seulgi loves Irene.

Wendy knocks quietly on the door that was slightly ajar, waiting for Seulgi to acknowledge her presence.

"Come in" Seulgi says as she quickly cleans up her sheets of paper until she sees a hand on top of one of the pieces, Wendy's to be exact. Seulgi eyes go wide and she knows she has been caught.

"I heard" Wendy says calmly, trying not to scare Seulgi away. Seulgi looks at Wendy and just breaks down, repeating 'I'm sorry' repeatedly.

"Why are you sorry Seul?"

"I ruined everything with my stupid feelings that I have tried so hard to control" Seulgi is now sobbing on Wendy's lap, trying to calm down after someone has now found out about her darkest secret.

"Seulgi, you haven't ruined anything. You can have feelings. It is not wrong to have these feelings no matter what others keep telling you. I know this because I also have these feelings" Wendy did not realize that she just confessed to Seulgi, but she could not worry about this now, she needed to help Seulgi.

"What do I do Wendy?"

"You tell her how you feel, no matter what the outcome."

"What if she hates me afterwards?"

"She could never Seul."

After the conversation, Seulgi walks out of the room looking for Irene. She first looks in her room then the kitchen, maknae's room and lastly, the mini studio they had. She found her with a pair of headphones on, eyes closed and engrossed in whatever song she was listening to. Seulgi decided to sit in front of the older girl, hoping not to startle her. When the song finishes, Irene opens she eyes to find Seulgi staring at her.

"What are you doing her Bear?" Bear is the nickname that she gave Seulgi when they were trainees, because she looks like one. Only Irene can call her Bear, no one else unless they have a death wish.

"I want to talk to you about something important"

"Okay? What is it?"

"I like someone"

"Who is he?"

"That's the thing, the someone is a girl"

"Oh...okay, who is she then?"

"She is amazing Irene. She is so beautiful and funny, she makes me feel butterflies every time I am with her. I want to tell her how I feel but I don't know how to"

"Just tell her, how about you practice telling me and that will help you gain the confidence to tell her"

"Okay...I'm in love with you"

"Yeah just like that, now go tell her"

"I just did Irene"

"Wait what?" Seulgi was now getting nervous, she had just confessed to Irene that she was in love with her. She felt a weight being lifted off her shoulders but a new on put on as Irene is still silent.

Seulgi makes her way to get up and walk away when she feels a hand pull her back.

The two girls are now forehead to forehead (Seulgi having to lean down lightly due to height differences)

"Say it again" Irene whispers

"Say what again?" Seulgi is now very confused

"Say it again Seulgi"

"I'm in love with you?" After Seulgi finishes talking, Irene kisses her. Her hand on the back of Seulgi's neck, pulling her as close as humanly possible.

Seulgi is shocked to start with but then kisses back, butterflies now feeling like a tornado inside of her. She reluctantly pulls away and rests her head back on Irene's.

"You make me feel butterflies every single time I see you Baechu"

"I feel the same way Seul"
