A/N: Hey everyone! I hope you are doing well and staying safe. I know it's been a while since this story has been updated, but I hope you are as excited as I am to continue Ro's journey. This story is really important to me and despite the recent infrequent updates, I want you to know that not a day goes by that I don't think about this story. I realized that I am most happy when I am writing and that it is really a gift to be able to write stories I care about. I can't provide a clear update schedule at the moment, but I will say I am working to better prioritize writing and storytelling in my life.
I hope you enjoy this chapter- I wrote it a few months back. It's right after the Field of Dreams performances. You get to learn a little bit more about Ace and what her relationship with Ro is like.

"Okay final, FINAL stop!" Ace cheered, pulling me forward. We had just escaped the chaos of Field of Music. A small crowd had quickly formed as the music waned out. I protested leaving so quickly, wanting to stargaze a little longer, and well....
....possibly run into Parker, but alas it wasn't in the cards. Truly, as the lanterns were clicked off, the magic of the abandoned park faded, and it was again just an old and forgotten part of the city.
Plus, Ace had once more stop for the night. She was pulling me along the sidewalk teasing, "One night in NYC and you've already been swept off your feet..."
"Well...I wouldn't say swept off me fe-..."
"I mean, I could use some romance too you know. Someone to wine and dine me," she began, an easy smile dancing across her face as she skipped forward.
"Don't be extra," I laughed quickly following in pursuit. "You're my one and only..." I giggled making googly eyes at her.
She swatted me away trying her hardest not to break into giggles. "I can't stand much of anyone else so.... I guess the same."
"Gee, thanks," I scoffed.
She just rolled her eyes as she said, "...wait here, I'll be right out."
Ace disappeared into what looked like a bakery, but I couldn't seem much through the tinted glass as most of the lights inside had been turned off. The store was wedged between a bar on one side and Italian restaurant on the other, the smell of basil and beer mixed in the air filling the street.
I looked up trying to decipher the metal scrapings of the sign above the glass door, neon tubing guiding the shape of the letters, but the quick ring of a bell indicating Ace's return redirected my attention.
A different and far more pleasant smell of cinnamon and sugar enveloped me as she pulled a white pastry bag before my face. The bottom of the bag was already transparent with melted butter and grease.
