Mark rolled his shoulders out, tiredly scrubbing the chalk scribbles off of the board at the front of the room. He was exhausted after a full day of fading in and out of focus, almost half of his classes calling him out. He was sure Taeil was going to talk to him later......At least his little run-around with Jeno had been fun.Maybe I should mention this to my therapist, Mark thought before scoffing bitterly. Like his therapist would be able to do anything. They certainly hadn't helped so far, but Mark still went. He placed the eraser back on the metal rack at the bottom of the chalk board and sank into his seat.
He glanced back up at the clock. It was only around a half hour until sports practice ended. Jeno would probably stop by. Mark smiled at the thought of the younger student dropping by to see him, maybe greet him with a kiss or two. Mark's eyes shifted back to the clock again, the red hand ticking away with each passing second.
Perhaps he could get some sleep. Mark leaned back in his chair, hoping that he wouldn't slip off and would wake up in time for Jeno to see him. But, he wouldn't mind seeing Chenle - or Donghyuck for that matter. So he closed his eyes, his eyelids burning as unconsciousness crept over him.
Mark groaned as he woke up, sitting up and rubbing his forehead, exhaustion settling into his bones. He blinked his eyes open, looking around and whining as he saw the hospital break room come into view around him. He looked down at the table in front of him and saw his shift schedule on it. He groaned again.
His muscles burned with overuse, and his constant headaches while he was on shift weren't helping either. It certaintly didn't help that he was on Renjun duty either. Their lovable schizophrenic absolutely refused to take his medications. It seemed not even Donghyuck could coax the younger to take the pills.
Will I get to see Jeno? The thought echoed through his head as his footsteps echoed down the empty hallway. He was looking forward to seeing the black-haired jock, he certainly missed Jeno's hugs and kisses. He pouted, looking around at the empty hospital.
It was late, most of the doctors and nurses had gone home or were spending their shift in the break room. He hadn't passed a single person from the hospital staff and he had already turned down three hallways, slowly making his way to room 103.
Movement in front of him caught his eyes and he turned his head up from the ground, blinking twice to make sure what he was seeing was right.
"Huang Renjun, what are you doing out of your room?" Mark yelled, catching the attention of the boy who seemed to be wandering aimlessly, muttering to himself. Mark gently turned the younger boy around, steering him back to his room. "You know you can't leave. Where's the nurse that was supposed to be watching you?"
