(Caleb's pov)

Nyai has been acting really weird lately and I don't understand why. She is just always sad and is never in the mood for anything. She acts scared all the time which makes no sense at all.

I have been trying to talk to her too, but she says that she is fine. She says that everything is okay, but I don't believe her one bit.

I'm at the store right now getting her shit. I know, I know, I'm a simp for this girl, but I can't help it. She means so much to me and she deserves to be treated like a queen. She deserves the entire world.

I grab her favorite foods, drinks, a movie, a blanket, some bath bombs, two candles, and some ice cream that I'm going to put in a basket. I really hope that she likes it. I'm sure she will because she loves all the shit I'm putting in it.

Once I'm done at the store I get in my car and I start to drive to her house. She doesn't know I'm coming though, so it'll be a surprise for her. I always love to surprise her with things.

I get to her house and I quickly put everything into the basket nicely. I look at it and I smile. Damn, I did good.

Grabbing the basket I get out of my car and I walk through the garage. I go into the house without knocking.

"Oh, hey."

I shut the door that leads to the kitchen and I turn around to see Layla standing there, "Hi," I say.

"Didn't know you were coming over. Nyai never mentioned that."

"She doesn't know either," I say. "I'm surprising her," I point down to the basket in my hands.

"Ah, is it your anniversary or something?"

"No," I say. "It's basically just a random gift. She's been down lately, so I wanted to get her a little something."

She smiles, "She will love it. She is in her room."

"Thank you," I say. I walk away from the kitchen and I walk to her room.

I open her bedroom door. The room is completely dark and the only thing I can hear is her fan running and slight sniffles.

"Baby," I say shutting the door. I lay the basket down on her desk and I blindly walk over to her bed.

I lay down next to her and I wrap my arms around her small body. "What's going on? Why are you crying?"

She doesn't answer. She just continues to cry in my arms. I just wish she would talk to me. She never talks to me about it.

I pull her body up a bit, so her head is now laying on my chest. I run my fingers through her hair and her grip on my body gets tighter.

"Baby girl, talk to me."

"I-I d-don't know," she says.

"What don't you know, baby? Please just talk to me. I'm here for you."

She lifts her face a bit and wipes her tears from face. I look at her, but I really don't know what I'm looking at since it's so damn dark in here.

"I-I just d-don't know what's going on. I'm just having one of those moments."

"So you don't know what's going on? You just haven't been feeling yourself?" I ask.

"Exactly," she says. "I just don't know what's going on and it absolutely sucks."

"It'll get better," I say. "Everyone always thinks that things will forever be bad, but that's not true. You'll find happiness."

"I know," she whispers.
