Skylers's POV

I hurried into the kitchen checking my watch for the hundredth time my stomach grumbling as I opened the fridge.

"It's as if we never buy groceries." I whisper frustrated that there wasn't anything there to grab quickly. Closing the door I scoop my keys off the counter my bag already hanging off my shoulder as I shout up the stairs. "Mom I'm heading to work so don't wait up!"

My mom comes down the first two steps and smiles sweetly her silver blue eyes glinting softly from the setting sun. "Alright honey drive safely and don't..." I didn't let her finish cutting in. "I won't give anyone my number mom I gotta work and I rather not have some creepy random person messaging me." I shake my head a small smile on my lips.

She laughs softly and hurries down the last of the stairs giving me a quick hug before I get to the door. "I love you Sky." I smile and look to her as I open the door to exit the house. "I love you too mom."

After I firmly close the door behind me I walk briskly down the stairs my strawberry blond hair getting caught by a soft breeze blowing a few strands into my face. 'Tonight is gonna be a long night.' I thought to myself as I toss my bag into my car before climbing in and starting it.

The engine turned over without a hitch as I sigh just happy that I finally got the old 72' Ford truck running. The original interior still intact with a few rust spots along the exterior giving the old girl a charming farm truck look.

I smile as I shift into reverse leaving my driveway as I shift into first to start down the quiet road turning my lights on as the sun finally ducks behind the hills. Quickly turning the radio on. Hott 101.9 plays a few commercials before Thunder by Imagine Dragons plays through the old speakers.

'Maybe tonight won't be so bad after all.'

Carter's POV
This evening was already hectic I had my two younger sisters in the car with me as I was driving to Billings just so they could go to a concert at Metra Park.

"Who are we going to see again Jess?" I say as I look in the rear view mirror meeting my little sisters eyes. "We are gonna be listening to Little Big Town." She says curtly looking out the window as the youngest of us three pokes her shoulder.

"Don't you think they are pretty cool?!" Marie says excitedly her small hands shaking with excitement. For a 12 year old she sure loves her country music. I shake my head as we cross the bridge over the Yellowstone River getting into the far right lane to turn right when the light finally turns green.

"They aren't bad Marie but im not as excited as you are i don't like the crowds." I say my fingers tightening in the wheel as I finally take my turn before turning right yet again into the parking lot.

"Oh we know big brother." Jess says with a small smile. I park the car in the lower parking lot. "But you gotta go with us and since its my 16th birthday that means I got to choose what we are doing." She giggles as we all climb out i shake my head again and smile as I have Marie grab my hand.

20 years old and I'm still the one to babysit. I glance up just as a old yellow Ford drives by catching a glimpse of the girl in the cab her hair pulled up into a ponytail and her eyes focused forward. 'Maybe it won't be so bad after all.'

I think to myself as I watch her park in the back lot hurrying into the arena wearing all black clothes. 'Maybe just maybe I'll be lucky enough to find her in there and talk to her.'

I hear Marie squeal excitedly as she tries to drag me faster Jess already ahead of us finding a spot for us in line her hands pulling the tickets out of her small purse. 'Or maybe this was just gonna be a hell of a night.'
