Skyler's POV
Walking into my work I quickly clock in using my thumb over the fingerprint scanner to prove it was actually me. I quickly grab an apron slipping my name tag over my head as I hurry up to the second floor. Working concession stands wasnt for the faint of heart you had to be quick and not be afraid to take complaints right to your face.
I walked to the left side of the arena from the back and took the elevator hurrying to the stand before all the people attending the concert entered the doors. Slipping into the small area I smile seeing the group im working with.
Daren turned around just in time to see me pop in before heading to the soda machine to his left my popcorn container full. I looked up at Daren as I pushed my bag under the counter before grabbing myself a cup and filling it with ice and Pepsi.
One benefit to working concession all the free soda you could drink and hot pretzels to your hearts desire. I smile softly.
"So Sky you did make it on time." Daren says playfully glancing at his phone screen before placing it back in his pocket.
Daren was the type of guy who was tall and lanky but so badly wanted to pull off being goth. He was wearing his vest that he had covered in patches from slipknot and other pretty rad bands his chain dangling off his hip as per usual.
"Well I hurried as much as i possibly could although I didn't get to eat." I say quickly before taking a sip of my drink I set it next to my bag under the counter already ready for the rush of people to come flooding through the doors. I walk over and stand next to him before meeting his grey eyes. "Well am I gonna get a hug or what."
Everyone we worked with knew we were close we always had been after he dated a girl that wound up being rude as hell to me.
His mom looked through the window of the kitchen with a smile on her face. "Oh goodness Sky I can't believe you're working with us again it seems like we will have a good team hopefully Lu shows up."
I giggle I knew Lu would show up she never missed work unless there was an emergency. I gave Daren our usual hug and then quickly made me way back to the kitchen hugging Darens mother tightly. "She will be here momma bear im sure of it." She pulled back from the hug a smile on her face.
If she had it her way Daren and I would already be dating. I smiled back before making my way to the ice cooler grabbing the bucket from the top I filled it and took it out to the front filling the ice boxes under both soda machines. I replaced the bucket just as Lu popped in putting her stuff away as we heard the doors open and all the chatter of the excited guests.
I listened to their steps as some stopped at the booth ordering their snacks and drinks before the show. Finishing up the last order I had I look up to meet the most gorgeous green blue eyes I've ever seen. I looked away quickly taking the order of a couple as a alluring scent hit my nose.
'Why the heck...' i trailed off as my eyes dilated slightly the smell of fresh rain and cedar wood invading my senses as I heard my inner voice speak 'Mate.' I wrinkle my brow and look back up but he was already gone.
'Why the hell did i just think that word and what was the smell about.' I quickly shook the thought out of my head as the lights dimmed and the band finally started to play.
I didnt have time to think about it i just needed to work but that didn't mean I couldn't enjoy some of the country music too. I smile to myself and look up taking the next customers order. ' This is gonna be a good night.'

Carter's POVFinally they opened the doors our line steadily becoming shorter and shorter as we made it to the workers who scanned out tickets.
Walking into the arena I squeezed Marie's hand before handing her off to Jess. "I'm gonna go to the restroom I'll meet you guys at our seats." Jess nodded before the headed of soon being engulfed by the crowd as i made my way to the right where our seats would be.
Finding the men's room close to the concessions stands I looked over to the counter as my nose caught her scent. 'Peppermint and lavender?
' I couldn't quite tell what the smell was as my eyes dilated when I saw her my wolf growling appreciatively. Her strawberry blond hair was in a ponytail swaying slightly at each movement she made completing each customers order in front of her. Her golden amber eyes lighting up as she smiled at each person she spoke too. Her pale skin seemed to glow slightly under these lights as i noticed her cheeks were flushed from how fast she was working.
She finally glanced up our eyes locking for the briefest of moments as my wolf spoke 'Mate.' I looked away and hurried towards the men's room as i noticed her get distracted by a few customers.
I hurried in doing my business before I finally took a deep breath scrubbing my hands in the cool water from the sinks. I dried them off before exciting the bathroom and making my way opposite of where she was.
My wolf was unhappy about this but I had to find my little sisters i was here for them not my mate. I finally find them and as I take my seat the lights dim as the music starts. I glance at my little sisters seeing them both smile as i relax slightly.
At least country music isn't terrible. You wouldn't get me to admit it though. I sigh softly a soft smile crossing my face as I close my eyes picturing my mate. 'Tonight was actually gonna be a good one for once.'
