We get back to the orphanage around 2:30. I wasnt in a rush at all because whenever Kambrea says its an emergency, its usually not. She usually asks me to run errands for her or something like that. Me, Nate, and Gwen walk into Kambreas office.
"Whats going on?" I see her doing paper work at her desk. She looks at me with a weird face as if she knows something. "What is it?" I cross my arms.
"Ihave some exciting news for you Makenzie." She grins for the first time in forever.
"What?" I say with a little attiude because I just want her to tell me whats happening.
"Well, 2 guys have came by and pick you out for adoption, you will be leaving later today to your new home, so you will need to go get all your stuff packed and be ready by 4:30." She smiles.
I look at her in shock. Nate or Gwen didnt say anything. I look at both of the speechless, not knowing what to say or do. They didnt know what to do either.
I look at Kambrea, "Who is it. Are they just some random strangers?"
"Well I don't personally know them. Your new guardian is Jack Gilinsky, he was accompanied by a gentleman named Jack Johnson." She explained going through paperwork on her desk.
"No no no no no." I shake my head, "you can't be serious."
"I am very serious. Congratulations Makenzie. You'll have a new loving family and home." She smiles and shoos me away. "Now go pack your things, we don't want to keep them waiting longer than they have to."
All 3 of us walk out of her office one by one.
"Did you know they were going to adopt you?" Mate asked me sounding a bit upset.
"No I didn't. I was kinda suspecting something was going on because they were asking me a bunch of questions about my favorite thing and stuff I like." I shrugged. "Never in a million years did I ever think this day would come. I figured I'd grow to be 18 and move out on my own."
"I can't believe this is happening right now" Gwen sighs and looks at the ground as we walk.
"Oh don't be upset please. We all wish of being adopted and loved just as much as the next. Be happy for me guys." I wrap both of them with my arms.
"We are happy for you, your just our best friend and it's going to be weird not seeing you everyday." Gwen mumbles.
"I'll still see you guys. I will come back all the time. It's not like i'm not gonna miss you guys. I'll still want to hang out and do stuff with you." We reach my room and they plop on my bed while I sit in my chair.
"What are we gonna do though. We're like 3 peas in a pod. Your the connector between all 3 of us. with out you me and Nate hate each other." Gwen says dramatically.
"Without you i'll have to deal with her shit all on my own." Nate sasses.
I laugh. "You guys will be fine. You guys don't need me to need each other. It'll be different for me too. I have to get used to a whole new environment and new people. You guys will be doing everything you normally do, I just won't be there most of the time like I was." I try to connect with them. "No matter where I go or what I do, I'll love you guys and i will never forget or leave you guys behind. If i could take you guys with me I would."
"We know Mak. We just really gonna miss messing with you and being around you. It's not fair you have to leave like this last minute." Nate murmurs.
"Trust me. I know. I wish I would've got a heads up or something. But life happens and it will go on." I sigh standing up. "So are you guys gonna help me pack or what?" I look at them and they shrug nodding.

It's now 4:13 and everything is packed. all my clothes and room decor is packed and ready to go.
"Well in like 10 more minutes i'll be leaving." I fall in my bed for the last time in 7 years.
"I'm so sad." Gwens voice shakes and I look at her. Her eyes are tearing up.
"Oh my gosh Gwen." I pull her into a hug. "It will be okay. Maybe another girl will come here and you guys will become best friends with her. Just don't forget about me because I won't forget about you guys. I'll come back and hang out with you all the time. It'll be as if I never even left." I start to tear up to.
"That's a lie." Nate scoffs rolling his eyes.
"Nate are you serious. I can't help I got adopted. I never thought I would. That was the last thing i've ever expected. You guys know I'll be back to hang out with you guys. You guys have been a huge part of my life for the last 7 years. We are a family together or not and I will always have your backs like you guys had mine." I cry out.
"You are gonna be so much happier out there than you were in here. your leaving us behind." Nate pouts.
"I'm not Nate. your one of my best friends. I'm not leaving you behind, I'm just taking a different path. Your moving forward as I am too. Yeah maybe I'm not in this stupid ass system anymore but that doesn't make me any better than you. I'm thankful to have you guys in my life and lord knows I couldn't of made it this far without you guys here with me. Gods setting me up for a new journey. Just because i'm leaving doesn't mean everything's over. It's a new challenge to adapt to something different." I explain to him.
"I proud of you Mak. And we might be a little taken back right now but we are truly happy for you and You deserve a loving family and a happy life. This place doesn't create happy people." Gwen smiles at me with tears rolling down her face.
"Maybe not but it does help create the best friendships some people will ever have. Keep your head up guys. There won't be a day go by that I won't think about yous. I'll be texting and calling everyday to check up. And if either of you ever need me, call me whenever and I will be there. You guys come first no matter what." I nod starting to cry a bit heavier.
Nate and Gwen come to me for a group hug and then lay on top of my on my bed. We all cry out loud.
All 3 of ur have went through so much in this place and it's crazy im leaving them today. A part of me wishes this wasn't happening but the other part of me has been praying for a family to accept me like their own just as these 2 did. God knows I will be forever great fun for these 2 and nobody can break the bond we have.
"Makenzie, come downstairs whenever your ready. Don't take too long please." Kambrea peers in my door and i yell ok.
We all get up and recouped ourselves.
"Will you guys help me take my stuff downstairs?" I look at them with a half smile and they nod but with almost no expression.
