Wakeup I heard my conscience shout, I ignored it.

WAKEUP IDIOT, he growled so loudly that I woke up startled.

I opened my eyes and looked around. It seemed I was in some kind of a dark alley.

Suddenly I felt my palm touching something metallic, I looked down to see a sword lying beside me a dark blue one with a forked end. the hilt was greyish with a silver crescent moon on the joint.

It was attached to my hands with a chain. I got up unsure of where I was. I knew that I was in the forest before I lost consciousness.

Near the altar,  the conscience added.

Yes, the altar I thought, I had seen a flash of it just before I had lost consciousness, I could vouch that it was not there all along, it was as if the altar became visible to me just as I was about to lose consciousness.

It's weird, let's get out of here.  My conscience said freaking out. I nodded and then walked out of the alley.

That's when I saw the cobbled stoned pavement, thatched houses and the town circle, people were milling around on streets buying wares, other people pulled wagons behind them.

That was when I lost it and slapped myself hard, thinking this is a dream.

Ouch, that might've hurt, as much as I would enjoy seeing you die. This is not the right time my conscience remarked.

"Are you kidding me, this doesn't look like my place, this looks like countryside in America" I shouted at him.

You may be right, still, I don't think its America, atleast not the America from our world my conscience said.

"What do you mean?" I asked slowly.

looks like we are in the past, or on some other planet, my conscience finally said.

"This seems like a joke to me," I said shaking my head.

Doesn't this looks pretty real to be some kind of joke he said making sense

"Let's ask these people what is this place," I said to myself as I started walking towards the man who was towing a wagon.

Tsk.. aren't you forgetting something.

"What!" I shouted annoyed.

You are carrying a sword by your side and though this is not our earth, I still don't see anyone there walking with weapons strapped beside them.

"What, do you propose should I do then"

I don't know, I am just telling you that walking to those people with a sword in hand doesn't looks like a good idea to me.

He did have a point there, what should I do then. I looked around to find something that can help conceal the sword. There, a discarded pile of cardboard boxes was stashed at the corner.

I went there and took a box. I quickly covered the sword by putting it in the box from below.and then closing the box. It looked like I was carrying a box. better.

I soon regretted doing that as that made my right hand ache just after fifteen minutes and also it didn't help with the balance. I nearly fell two times, just regaining my balance at the last minute.

I went to a stall, where the vendor was selling some grains.

"Excuse me, can I know what this place ,is" I asked just as I reached him.

The vendor eyed me suspiciously, for a minute "Why, where are you from" he asked scrunting his eyes.

"um-Dunfeild town " I answered hesitantly.
