"AH (Y/N)! I'M GLAD YOU'VE RETURNED!"
Shinobu greeted as you walked into the gravel path leading to the centre of the pillar base. With a sniff you nodded "thanks, Shinobu."
"Kyoujuro is waiting for you." She smiled teasingly as she walked by your side. You chuckled softly as you rested your hand on the hilt of your sword. "Yeah, I'll be sure to see him."
You then felt your nose get stuffy and immediately you brought your hand to cover your nose.
"Uh, I have to go.. I'll see you in a bit."
Before Shinobu could even reply, you ran to your quarters, but once you got to your doorstep, you found that the door was unlocked. "Kyoujuro.." you mumbled before heading inside. "He's probably inside waiting for me."
"Umm.. hello?" You called, peeking your head through the door. You then slipped your slippers off and set them next to the potted plant next to the door. "Kyoujuro.. I know you're here.."
As you went deeper inside the house, you felt a pair of strong arms wrap around your waist from behind you.
"(Y/n)!!" Rengoku beamed with his very loud and confident voice. He twirled you around the air before gently placing you down. "Hey!" You giggled as he peppered your cheeks with kisses. Rengoku then pulled away and stared deeply into your beautiful eyes.
"Hello my dear, I'm glad to see you've returned unharmed."
His words and strong eyes brought a smile to your lips. His hands continued to rest on your waist until you felt your nose tickle a little. "It's so good to see you too, Kyou! But I really gotta go to the restroom for a minute!"
You tore yourself away from Rengoku's arms and held your nose before a sneeze could escape. "(Y/n)? Are you alright?.." once he said that, your nose got completely stuffed, making it difficult for you to breathe. "I don't know what you're talking about, honey."
Rengoku made his way to the bathroom where he found you stuffing your nose with tissues. "Are you not feeling well?" He asked you while crossing his arms in front of his chest and raising a brow. "Wha- no, I totally didn't get caught in the rain while making my way here.."
Once he heard 'rain' he noticed your nose and cheeks getting red. "Let's get you to bed, you're sick." He said, turning around and making his way to the kitchen.
Your eyes widen before pulling out the tissue from your nose. "Kyou? What are you doing?" You followed not too far behind him. "I'm making you something to eat, and while I do that, take a shower and get to bed."
As Rengoku washed his hands so he could get to work, you snaked your arms around his waist and stuffed your face into his back. "No, don't cook for me... it makes me feel spoiled."
Rengoku took your arms and pulled them from his waist. "Ah Ah ah!" As he backed away from you and you stood there confused and defeated. He then raised his hand in front of you with a smirk "come any closer and you'll get me sick too."
"Right.. after kissing me earlier I think we're way passed that now." You pouted as he stared amusingly at you. "C'mon missy, take a shower and go to bed!" He grabbed a wooden spoon and softly smacked your behind with it. "Mush!"
"Ow!!" You exclaimed, rubbing your thigh.
"(Y/n)-"
"Okay okay, I'm mushing.." you sighed heavily and made your way to the bathroom to shower.
While you showered, Rengoku made you chicken and vegetable soup in the kitchen. He wanted to make sure you got better so he could cuddle you after a long day.
After a while, you stepped out of the shower into your most comfortable sleeping clothes and a towel wrapped around your head, a few strands stuck out on the sides. "I brought you soup, my dear"
You turned around and saw Rengoku holding a tray of soup and water. "Aww.. thank you." You smiled as you walked over to him. "Apapap! Go and lie down.." he ordered. Your once cheerful smile turned into a scowl before turning on your heel and plopped down to bed. Sniffing loudly to stop the mucus from dripping, you felt The bed shift as Rengoku sat down next to you.
"Here you go." He said, setting the tray next to you. "Eat up, dear. I made it just for you."
You got up and kissed his cheek lovingly. "Thanks, honey." You whispered before taking the spoon. You raised the spoon to your lips and blew the steam emitting from the soup.
Finally you took a sip and your eyes reached over to your smiling lover. "It tastes a-mazing.." Rengoku's heart leapt, feeling happy and proud you enjoyed his creation. "My mother used to make it for me whenever I got sick."
"That's adorable." You said, taking another sip. "I love you, (Y/n)" he told you, making your heart thud happily in your chest. You looked at him with loving eyes "I love you too, Kyoujuro.."
After a while of chatting about your recent mission, Rengoku looked to your bowl to find it empty. He reached for it and you quickly moved it away. "Let me wash it, you've done so much already."
"It's okay (Y/n), allow me-"
"Nope!"
You got out of bed and ran to the kitchen to wash the bowl and empty glass. When he caught up to you, he found the dishes already in the drying rack. "C'mon, let's cuddle." You ordered, pulling him by the arm and leading him to the bedroom.
Once you both plopped down in bed you immediately fell asleep, Rengoku gently placed his hand on your forehead and felt it get warmer and warmer. "Looks like you've got a fever.."
"Bebeh no.." you squirmed, smacking his hand away. "(Y/n) I'll get sick if I-"
"No~ I like lobsters.. they're like.. crabs but.. mermaids?"
He saw your eyes closed. You were probably dreaming? Rengoku watched as you tried your best to pull him down with you. "Hey Kyou?" You suddenly called. "Mhm?"
"D'you think.. if a guinea pig and a normal pig had a baby, would it be called a piggy pig or would it still be called a guinea pig?"
"Dear, you need sleep." He chuckled nervously as he stood up.
"I dunno.. I've just been thinking about it for a while now..."
Rengoku chuckled to himself quietly, adoring your delirious yet adorable state. "Get some rest,dear."
