"Queen Elenna."
When the men heard this name they we're all taken aback as they scan the two of them.
"You are not to speak of this name! Elenna's time has passed with her family. I do not expect that such a lowly man can speak of her highness' name!" The guard bawled at Richard. "And I believe, any person that has connection with the queen shall be eliminated as well." The man said.
"My father has no connection to her queen! He can not be eliminated as he only followed orde--" Richard covered Adela's mouth before she finished her sentence. "You are not to speak!" Richard said.
"Take them." The man said and the guards immediately took the two and pushed them inside the kingdom.
On the brighter side, they got into the kingdom. Just not how they expected or where they wanted to be.
...
The two of them we're taken to a dark place where no light can enter, where every corner has moss growing out of it. It was not a very glorious place, in fact it was the opposite.
"This isn't how we usually welcome our guests, but you have made me disappointed with the mention of an old ruler." Richard's eyes was confused but he was not as dim-witted as he expected.
"It's pretty offending how you know Queen Elenna, but not me... King Lucas." The man introduced himself. "I have no idea how you are connected to the past rulers or how you assumed the throne as yours." Richard answered King Lucas with his strength. "Well, in fact... I am not connected to Queen Elenna, Princess Adela, or even King Matthew. I am just a person who built this Kingdom when it was burned into ashes. I did not assume it was mine, I was worthy of it-- do you see this?! I do not understand how you are a survivor without a single scar on your entire body!" The man was furious with how Richard answered him.
"Adela never deserved this kingdom even when she was born." King Lucas murmured. "I do not know what grudge you hold with her highness but from the way you speak, you despise her." Adela replied, "yes, I despise her. That girl did not deserve any part of this Kingdom. She is incapable and unworthy of the throne, and even if she is alive-- which is not likely-- I will still fight for this throne, because this is what I deserve!" King Lucas shoute and stormed out.
Adela looked straight into Richard's eyes.
"Why did you lead me back here?! I am not welcome here! I had enough of your orders-- no, Elenna's order! You should've just left me to die, any noble would know that!" Adela scowled at Richard. "That is not a way to talk about your mother! You do not know what I have gone through just to raise you!" Richard shouted back, "no body told you to raise me!" "Your mother told me! Now, enough of this talk. You are disrespecting not only me-- your mother as well!" Richard was worked up as he sat on the floor.
"Listen to me dear child. None of what he said is right, you deserve the throne more than anyone--"
"Nonsense! I am not a fool, Richard. I can see that he has worked for his position more than I have--"
"You don't know that! I worked for your position, a position determined before your birth! Get yourself straight, Adela. I will not take more of this foolish talk!"
Adela held on to the bars that was seperating them from the outside.
"If I was given a choice, either to leave you to die or survive with you, I will always pick surviving with you. Taking care of you is an honor, Young Queen."
