"Winty!" my friend softly shouted as I had zoned out while thinking about Wes, his perfect, caramel-colored hair, his soft teal eyes, the way I think his lips would feel against mine. I looked up, my orange eyes showing surprise.
"Sorry, I was just-" I started but Summer interrupted, saying, "Swooning over Wes?"
"Ew, gross!" I said, knowing my acting wasn't well. I blushed every time he was in the same hallway as me. Well, maybe if he was at least in earshot. She nodded unsure. The sun started to fall, maybe reading my mind and having a bit of the color of Wes' caramel hair.
"I gotta get home, see you later?" I said as Summer raised an eyebrow. She nodded again before I walked home. The large kitchen made me amazed again as I circled it to find the stack of popcorn packages. Man, my parents should leave me home alone more often, I thought as I stuffed the popcorn bag into the microwave. The timer went of in a matter of time that had passed by slowly. I took out the popcorn and opened the bag, seeing the fluffy yellow color of popped popcorn. I ate the popcorn for a quick dinner then walked to my room and changed into orange Doctor Who pajamas. My mind wondered if the voices would come back. I crawled into bed and stayed up, playing games on my phone.
You should be asleep, the voice said.
"Who falls asleep home alone?" I answered back
Well, I'm bothering you so, um, have a nice restless night. But I need to tell you; you need to stay up tomorrow night and keep the light on, or else a grave danger will be upon you.
I nodded, happy to be gone of the voices for they silenced. I played Flappy Bird until the sun rose. I hopped up and took off my pjs before putting on a yellow skirt and a shirt quoting The Phantom of the Opera, my second favorite book/play. I ate an uncooked pop tart before heading to my high school, making sure I have my math homework.
