I wake up to the smell of a perfectly brewed fruit tea. It's an another day in the city, an another simple day. I slowly get up in my bed, using my left hand to block the sunshine from blinding me this early in the morning.
I sigh as I hear my mother walking towards my room, bring the cup of tea with her. It clinks with every step she makes, becoming louder and louder as she progresses on her route.
She gently knocks on the wooden door, letting out a soft sigh."Are you up Lukas? It's 9 am already." She asks, opening the door. I smile as the scent of the tea reaches my nose, waking me up.
" Yes, I'm up mom, as you can see, I'm sitting on the bed." I joke, making her chuckle while putting the cup down on my night table.
" I hope you had a good rest. Remember, you're going with your father to meet the monsters in the afternoon." She said before leaving my room. I look out the window to see Mt. Ebott. That's where we're going today. Yesterday, my father was devastated. You see, he works at the "Anti-Monster Department", AMD for short. My father, Samuel Reeves works there as Jessica Grey's personal assistant. His work tripled since the barrier was broken, and hated that the monsters, the ones our ancestors locked under the mountain, were now free.
I got out of my bed and fixed the sheets, making everything look perfect. The closet door was slightly open, letting me choose my outfit without opening it. I deeply concentrated and two of the hands I had appeared. They flew in and picked my clothes out, bringing them to me. I changed from my pajamas to casual clothing, which consisted of a pair of light brown jeans, a dark blue shirt, and a crimson hoodie. After that, I walked to the bathroom, taking a look at my face.
My usually smooth hair was now in all directions, the effect of sleeping. My eyes were shining in their reflective colours, bright blue in my left, and warm red in my right. Under those two bright orbits, were dark circles. I couldn't sleep yesterday, and couldn't sleep this night. Something was making me stay awake, and my power activate out of the blue. I quickly washed my face and put on a little bit of mascara to cover the dark circles under my eyes. After that, I fixed my hair to make me look like a living being at least.
" Good morning son. Are you ready to leave for Mt. Ebott?" My father asked me the moment I reached the living room. He was sitting on the couch, drinking his usual morning coffee while reading the newspaper. He had a stern look on his face, and as far as I know him, he must have read a news about the monsters.
" Sam, please, he's just woken up. You know that monsters are a sensitive subject to him." My mother called out from the kitchen. She was always defending me from everything, since I was born. The doctors said that I was born traitless, but that fact proved to be false at the age of ten.
" Yeah, I'm ready... But wasn't the time afternoon?" I asked, trying to make my father focus on something else.
" It's after breakfast. And just so you can't tell me that you didn't remember, no magic stuff, got it?" He said coldly. He hated that I had magic, especially that I had monster magic instead of human magic. My mother thought that it was a miracle, while my father thought that it was a curse.
I simply nodded, sitting down at the dining table. There was a loaf of bread, some cheese, margarine, and other things that I could make sandwiches out of. I started making them for everyone, getting creative with the vegetables and types of cheeses and meat. After half an hour, I made food for everyone. It was enough for breakfast, and everyone could take sandwiches to work in case one of us got hungry. My dad smiled at me as he finished his sandwich, wiping down a bit of margarine from his lips.
" You're still good at this Lukas." He said with kindness this time. My mother chuckled and I just nodded. I did always succeed in getting creative or remaking patterns.
" Now that everyone is ready, let's go. All of us have work to do." My mom stated, both me and my dad agreeing. I was asked by dad yesterday to accompany him to the barrier, where the monsters were. They didn't try to attack the city or capture homes, and that's why I think that they are peaceful. They weren't evil as history books said, and they weren't bloodthirsty monsters who wanted all of humanity dead.
After a 45 minute car ride where we picked up some security members from Dad's workplace, we've arrived at the foot of the mountain. They've made a path for everyone who climbs up, so we only had to follow the path. After a little time, there were no trees anymore, only rocks. When we reached the top of the mountain, we saw a massive cave, and I sensed a lot of magic inside. We stood there for some minutes until a group of monsters emerged from the cave.
Three of them were goat-like, so they must have been the king and queen, Asgore and Toriel, and the prince, who was born in the underground. There were three skeleton-like figures, the tall one was the royal scientist, Dr. W.D. Gaster himself. If we're thinking logically, the other two skeletons must be his sons.
But there were more of them. A fish and lizard, and most importantly, a human. He must have been the one who fell into the underground and freed them.
" Greetings, I am King Asgore, ruler of the monsters. If you are the leaders of the city, I would like to talk with one of you." The king, Asgore said, looking at my father, who was the first in line.
" We are not here to talk. We're only here to drive you back into the mountain." My father spat out coldly, as one of the guards quickly grabbed the human who was with them, pulling him to us.
"Frisk! What are you doing?!" The queen snapped at the guard, and the fish lady threw a blue spear at my father. As a reaction, my father pulled out his gun and proceeded to shoot the queen. Everything happened fast. I snapped my fingers and summoned two of the hands, and put a shield around the monsters, then us, humans. The bullet bounced off into the ground, and the spear dissolved into magic.
Both groups looked at me, and while my father and guards were rather furious, the monsters looked shocked and puzzled.
" W-what... How...?" The smaller skeleton asked, as I made the shields and the hands disappear.
" I see... So that's the reason why I felt my own magic inside him." Dr. Gaster said his thoughts out loud, and suddenly teleported before me. The guards couldn't react fast enough, as he smiled at me, holding his hand out for a handshake. He wasn't terrifying or trying kill me. It seems like he was just being polite.
" Greetings, it seems like that we share the same magic ability, human." He stated, hearing the slight confusion in his voice, but it seems like I'm going to be spending a lot of time with the famous royal scientist.
