The former sorcerer packed up his beloved possessions with great haste. He moved them to the entrance of the house. No longer did he want to stay in London. And was eager to avoid their corruption, before it was too late. Where would life drive him towards, little did he care. As long as he made it out alive, that was his main goal.
Why leave so soon? A shady voice spoke from the shadows. In an instant, he knew who it was. Without replying, he moved more of the objects and headed for the door, for what little foolish hope he had in mind.
Submit now, and your suffering will end. The shady voice demanded, and I gazed back in time to witness the shadowy figure of a higher official. Darkness followed her path, corrupted magic spewed out at every level and angle. Yet with a reach for the doorknob, his hand slipped and rubbed against wood. With a sudden surprise, the doors and windows were gone! Don't be a foolish old man, shall we ? She asked softly, leaning toward his fallen form. With one last attempt, he casted a lightning bolt, but her darkness was stronger than any weapon. The former sorcerer hid in a corner like a child, and her corrupted shadows consumed his vision. The mans mind melted away, and his body taken over by a null demon.
He was now one of them. No longer could he think for himself, no longer was he a pure human. Corrupted magic spewed from him.
Never underestimate our power. She spoke to the former magician, now brain dead on the wooden floors.
A decade later after his body was removed, 3 thieves break into the house in search of riches. Another foolish act, but this was unforeseen by the higher powers, as they thought there was nothing more than a foolish man.
Sometimes their power will blind them, and for a good reason that might benefit another entity of species.
