Heavy smog clouded the skies, converting the world into a deeper shade of greys. Most Victorian era buildings had been retrofitted with large boilers that sustained current human activity in alternative 1990's. Mulberry street had the last house without a boiler, due to the fact no one dared to own a haunted house. Many old timers spoke of a man of magic, who would create wonders within the public eye. That was true until a change in government banned and regulated the use of magic since 1980s. Since then it has become forgotten in the minds of many. Both because the government burned the books, and publicly killed those who practiced magic.

However, this man was known to be seen in a window from time to time, until recently. His house stood abandoned that year in 1990s. No one knew or dared to enter that house, aside from 3 troublemakers. They thoughts they knew better, and to claim whatever riches within, no matter the risk.

The floorboards creaked slightly as the thieves entered the house though a broken back door. Their leader carried a dull lantern as it partially lit up the rooms. With disappointment, much of these rooms were empty, aside from uninteresting packed boxes and a few white rings with polished metal. They took the rings with them and hoped they would sell.

As they headed upstairs with hearts heavy in anger, these feelings quickly faded after hearing a sudden thud of something large falling, then the scatter of a small moving critter. Upon observation, they found two origami knights standing upright. One of the thieves tried take ahold of it, but both knights became animated and scurried off on horses. With great confusion, the 3 thieves followed.

Allen, Ken, and Edgar stood before a large opening that lea to the attic. Fear burned within as they looked at each other, then at the one remaining origami knight. It stood there looking at us from the top of the opening. The knight soon hurried off, but their interest peaked. One by one they climbed up the narrow ladder, Edgar being the first to witness the majestic landscape before him. Underneath the pitched roof of that abandoned home, magic thrived here. Origami mountains and valleys flowed with life as they gaze a upon the smaller details. Trees covers the valley nd water like paper flowed in a river format. A kingdom with a nearby village was sprawled out neatly upon the wooden floorboards. They took a step forward, and they soon shrunk into that world of magic. Their rings slowed with a faint white light, and they knew this was the last kind of magic.

The kings men's and horses rode over the great valley to the newcomers. With a kind greeting, the origami king welcomed them into the kingdom. But when they asked what happened to their former companion, they were uncertain of their future, for their creator had left them.

What they were about to accomplish would shape their minds and reasoning for life, forever.
