two weeks had passed since sana and dahyun's odd meetup and it was still all their friends could talk about.
the two involved were quite unbothered, seeing is as a normal friendship but their friends thought otherwise.

sana and dahyun texted often, although some nights sana was busy doing who-knows-what and would leave dahyun on 'read'. 'twas one of the worst feelings in the world, but it didn't halt the friendship.

on a particularly lonely night where it was pouring with rain outside and the sky was void-like and empty, dahyun was relaxing by her window and admiring the illuminated city below.

all the action, all the adventures, everything going on down there - she was missing out on.

this seemed to be a recurring thought for the young 23-year-old. being alone when so much was happening.

just as she was about to try and sleep, a text buzzed her phone, and, being as sad as she was, dahyun opened it right away.

minatozagay: wanna facetime?

dabdubu: sure!

dabdubu: ahah i'll need your number

minatozagay: (xxx)-(xxx)-(xxx)

fixing her hair and jumping onto her bed, dahyun entered the number into her contacts and opened up the facetime app.

she typed sana's name in nervously, although she had no idea why.

the sound of the pending call ringing out sent thrilled shivers down dahyun's spine in the most inexplainable way.

"hey, dahyunie!"

that's right. she'd flatteringly nicknamed dahyun.

"hey sattang."

dahyun had done the same.

before continuing, the younger took a moment to admire sana's features.

her hair was a playful mix between blonde and light brown, complemented by her darker eyes. glossy pink lips, so kissable and—

hang on, kissable?

calm down, you big gay lesbian.

"how are you doing?"

"pretty good. a little lonely, but it's alright. you?"

"i'm great. why are you lonely?"

"you've been to my apartment," laughed dahyun awkwardly. "you know i live alone."

"maybe i could join you one night."

was she kidding?

"uh. if that's okay with you."

"yeah, it'd be fun! plus, things aren't amazing at my apartment either. i forgot to pay the rent and the landlord keeps nagging me, so i infested the building with ˢᵃᵏᵉˢ."

"snakes?"

"i don't recall saying snakes."

they talked late into the night, agreeing on a night to have a 'saida sleepover' (nicknamed by sana) until the older became tired. she rubbed her eyes like a child who needs sleep and said goodbye.

"annyeong, dahyunie~"

as soon as the call ended, dahyun felt her stomach drop out of disappointment.

the flirtatious way in which sana said her goodbye made the younger want more.

before finally deciding to sleep, she prayed that the friendship would be long and happy.

she never wanted to let go of her new friend.

just as she lay down on the pillow, she received a notification and a message.

nabunny started following you.

nabunny wants to send you a message.
