Soooo I haven't upstaged this in a long time so here we go lol
———————————I open my eyes when I feel Ian pull up to my apartment building, I adjust myself in the seat and turn to him.
"Thanks for the ride," I say, he nods at me as I open the door.
I walk up the building stairs and make my way to my apartment.
I open the door and plop my things on the counter. I go into my room and change my clothes, wearing black shorts and a graphic t-shirt.
I wash my face, brush my hair, and jump into bed. I reach for my laptop and look at my family's social media to see what they've posted. I laugh at some dumb things my dad has tagged me in.
I see a few new friend requests, one being Ella and even Adam, some random ones, and a name I haven't thought of since I was 14. I think for a moment before accepting it, closing my lap top and decided to go to bed before I started to overthink. Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath and let sleep wave over me.
Just as I took a breath to fall asleep, I woke up with a gasp. I was sweating more than I thought was possible, I could barely breathe.
I sit up and try to calm down, unable to remember what I was dreaming about. I grab my phone and call Jacob, considering he decided to stay at a hotel here for a couple of days before he has to go back to work.
"Cat? It 3 am what's wrong?" He asks, concern in his tone.
"Jake, I-I can't b-breathe," I gasp out, trying to talk.
"Hey, you're okay just keep trying to breathe, I'll be there as soon as I can, okay?" He assures.
"Okay," I say, breathing hard. He hangs up and I can't find something to focus on, it was like everything was coming at me all at once.
I waited around 15 minutes until I heard a banging on my door, I was breathing better but shaking and sweating still. I felt uneasy and scared. I hated this feeling.
I open the door and see Jacob, but even more shocking, I saw Ian behind him.
"Cat, are you okay?" Jacob asks eagerly, grabbing my shoulders and looking at me, I was focused on Ian behind him, unable to think of why he was here also.
"Cat? Can you hear me?" Jacob asks louder, my eyes snap to his and I nod, grabbing his forearms gently.
"Y-yeah," I tell him, looking at the ground. He takes a reassuring breath.
"Are you okay? What happened? You haven't had a panic attack in years," he says all at once. He envelopes me in his arms for a hug, knowing the feeling would help me calm down, feel safe.
He leads me to the couch, I watch as Ian looks around unsure of what to do, he sits at the kitchen counter and let's us be alone.
"I-I don't know, I don't remember what I was even dreaming about," I tell him. He rubs my back and soothes my nerves. We sit on the couch until I calm down after a bit, still a little shaky.
"Nathan sent me a friend request," I tell Jacob. This catches his attention, he looks at me stunned. It's all that came to mind, maybe it had something to do with my dream.
"You didn't accept it did you?" He asks somewhat annoyed. When I look at him and when I don't say anything, he knows the answer.
"Cat, why? Why would you want him to see how good you're doing, after everything he and his family did to you!?" He asks angrily.
I shrug, "He went through it too, Jacob," I say sharply. He takes a deep breath.
"That doesn't mean he had to do those things to you, he sat back and watched," Jacob says getting angry. I put my hand on his shoulder.
