A comforting silence falls down on the two, just enjoying each other's company until the blonde clears her throat.
"So, you're a singer, huh?" Perrie asks with a smirk as she leans back on her chair, crossing her arms as she watches the girl before her. There was something about Jade, something endearing. Somehow, she felt a sense of comfort with her.
And Jade could say the same because she felt safe around Perrie. She felt like she could handle the world and face everything, including her father. Including all the harsh words the media could say.
"Yes I am. And you are? For all I know you're part of a cult." She jokes, earning a chuckle from the blonde as she takes a sip of her coffee, "I told you, I'm not part of a cult. Unless you call our family business a cult then sure." She laughs, making Jade giggle.
"I'm sorry. It's annoying, me asking questions." She apologizes silently, remembering all the times she was turned down and ignored by Jed or any man for simply asking a question. Perrie raises an eyebrow, "You okay, love?"
She stays silent, nodding her head and pursing her lips together before taking a sip from her drink, the blonde in front of her sighs. "You shouldn't apologize or feel bad for asking questions. You're just curious, that's all."
"Are you always this nice?" She asks with an arched eyebrow, the woman in front of her shakes her head.
"It's not me being nice. I'm serious. You shouldn't feel bad about asking. It's not like you're gossipping or anything." She replies, moving forward so that her elbows were perched on top of the table, "You can ask away, Jade. You're lovely and I really want to help you. Just be yourself."
"I don't know how to do that." She mumbles, Perrie frowns.
"Yes you do. You're just not used to it. And as your wife, I'd like to see who you really are if you want to make this work." The blonde smirks, Jade laughs silently, taking a deep breath before meeting the blonde's blue eyes. "Okay. I've done the asking, it's your turn."
"Gladly. What's your favorite color?" She asks, narrowing her eyes as Jade answers her quickly, "Grey."
"That's a lie, I can see it in your eyes." She retorts quickly, smirking at the brunette knowing she was right. Look, Perrie might be a reckless fuck sometimes but she's also a writer. She knew how to read people the same way she knew how to write them.
"Fine. It's purple. Doesn't fit the "reckless bad girl," persona I had." She says shyly as she hides behind the mug.
Perrie chuckles, "You? A reckless bad girl? Certainly not."
"What makes you say that?"
"I've known you for less than a day, Jade, and so far I can't stop thinking about how sweet you are. You're lovely. I don't think you hear that enough. At least not from people who look up to you." Perrie replies, letting her heart speak rather than her mind.
Perrie could tell you sweet words, tell you poems that she'd think of from the top of her head and yet it wouldn't mean a thing. But here she was, telling a girl she's met less than a day that she's lovely.
It's not the sweetest or most romantic thing someone could say but it was genuine. And for once she wanted to be real. She didn't want to think of someone as her character.
Jade stays silent, biting her lip and ignoring the heat rising in her cheeks as she nods, clearing her throat. "So, uh, enough about me. We could settle that later."
They don't speak for a while until the brunette notices a camera flash going off in the distance, smirking, she inches closer to the blonde, "You know, it's not bad to start pissing my father off more."
