My stomach feels 30 pounds heavier my arms and hands sink into a soft like surface as my fingers collectively gather small pieces of that soft surface. My fingers run through it but it quickly slips away from me. I've definitely felt this before, sand, it's sand. My eyes are glued together I slowly open them but the strong ray of sunshine hits my eyes reminding me of the early Monday mornings being woken up to the hot, bright sun on my face. Where am I? Sweat builds on my back and neck. Slowly it tickles the back of my ear making me twitch, digging my fingers onto the sand hoping that if I dig my nails deeper, I'll have the strength to open my eyes again. Somehow the silence grows louder a staticky sound fills my ears.
