The lights went back on.
The sound of my neighbours voices echoed as they yell "YIPPEE KI YAY!".
I remembered my homework and my phone that just died a couple minutes ago. I immediately got up and went straight to my desk, I plugged my phone onto the charger and sat down to begin doing my homework.
I stared at the newly recovered childhood artifact that was a top of my dirty pile of laundry, then faced the wall.
She was gone.
Where'd she go?
I wasn't even able to say goodbye.
I wonder when she'll come back.
Moments like that just now are very memorable to me, cause you never know when a time of peace and tranquility will ever come again.
I wish the world would shut down just like that every once in a while.
Technology and innovation is good, but it's never a bad thing to disregard all the machines and gadgets that we mostly depend on nowadays.
I hope I'm not the only one who thinks that.
I like blackouts.
For me, it's like I instantly travelled back in time. To the good old days, to the time of my innocence.
If I was elected President, I would declare there to be a blackout once every month... okay maybe that's too much. Alright, once a year then. Just a full on day without all the bright city lights, just the stars and a few candles to serve as light.
A full on day without all the annoying electronic stuff, just you, sorrunded by the ones you love, looking back at the memories that were once forgotten.
But, I guess I'd have to graduate first before I could do all that.
I looked back at the wall.
I really couldn't see her anymore.
But I knew she was there.
"OH WELL, GUESS I'LL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT BLACKOUT."
Until then my old friend.
