"Oh, I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention," I said as I helped pick up someone's books I'd knocked down on my way to the school doors to go home. "It's totally fine, if you weren't paying attention I wasn't looking either," they said.
"My names River, what's yours?" River asked as they put their books in their bag. "Alex, Alex Haltone." I said meekly, looking around a bit awkwardly.
They looked up and smiled at me while speaking, "Well, where are going after school, hanging out with any friends later?" I shrugged my shoulder nonchalantly. "I'm actually about to go to that new cafe that opened up last week then head home."
"If that's the case do you think I could tag along I am pretty hungry and I've got nothing to do now?" River asked looking at me expectantly.
"Sure why not, the more the merrier right?" I asked giggling not having a reason to say no. River chuckled as they slipped on a jacket grabbing my arm and jogging towards the door.
Well this is one hell of a person, I thought to myself not knowing what to expect.
