iii. two turtledoves

I woke up and the first thing I noticed was Calum Hood's arm around body.

His arm.

Around my body.

My heart rate sped up and my breath hitched and my eyes widened.

I fell asleep on a couch with Calum Hood.

I looked around and saw that Dori and Ashton were still cuddling on the pull-out bed, wrapped up in a blanket. Dori was already awake, looking at her phone. When she noticed me, she carefully waved, trying not to wake up Ashton.

I carefully extracted myself from Calum (Calum!) and pulled out my phone.

10:03 AM, Dori: you and calum sleep cute together (:

10:03 AM, Siena: are you aware of what just happened. i fell asleep with calum.

10:03 AM, Dori: I know. I watched it happen.

10:04 AM, Siena: and you fell asleep with asHTON

10:04 AM, Dori: yeah, how exactly did that one happen?

10:04 AM, Siena: you and ashton sleep cute together. >:)

10:04 AM, Dori: go and get me some coffee while youre up, yeah?

I sighed and put my phone in my pocket, walking into the kitchen. I was surprised to see that Luke was already up and sitting on the island with his legs and arms crossed.

"Hey," I whispered, reaching for a mug.

"Good morning," he replied, frowning in the direction of the couches with his sleeping friends.

I started up the coffee maker and looked where he was looking. "Dori and Ash look cute, huh?"

"What?" he said. "Yeah, yeah. Cute." He stared at Mikey and Cat, who were leaning on each other.

"They seemed to hate each other last night." Luke looked away and at me with a tilt of the head, searching for answers.

"I saw it more as playful banter," I said, smiling. "They kissed under the mistletoe, you know."

"They what?" Luke looked incredulous.

"Right over there." I pointed at the microwave. "It was awkward, but cute."

"Cute. Okay, well, Siena, I need you to do something for me."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Keep an eye on my cousin and Mikey."

"You don't trust your extraordinarily capable older cousin and your best friend?"

"I just... I want them to be careful."

"Okay. I will." I squeezed Luke's arm reassuringly before grabbing Dori's coffee and heading back to the couch, handing it to her.

Thanks, she mouthed, trying to sip without spilling or changing position. Ashton shifted and wrapped his arms tighter around her. She rolled his eyes and looked pointedly at me like, can you believe him?

I smiled and sat back down next to Calum. I really hoped we looked as cute as them as they slept. I hoped and I hoped and I hoped.

It was another hour before everyone woke up and another hour after that before they were ready to start the day. Naturally, all they cared about was food. All of the boys looked at Dori expectantly.

Dori raised her hands in exasperation. "Do you think that I'm gonna cook for you?" Calum ran over and hugged her with a pout.

She rolled her eyes. "Either you're cooking for yourself, or we're eating out."
