Hour 13 - Move Along; The All-American Rejects

"When're you gonna start that perfect month of yours?" Jen asked Michael, taking a sip from her beer.

By this time -- 7:00 p.m., the car's clock read -- the whole group -- except Jen and Michael -- were asleep. Having woken up at four o'clock to pack and prepare, they were all tired. Michael's view was slowly blurring out because of tiredness.

He gave her a goofy grin. "Maybe by the time we arrive at the rock show." Michael laughed at his (unoriginal) pun. When Jen gave him a look, Michael shrugged and replied, "I'm slightly drunk and sleepy, I'll laugh at anything."

"One girl, one day, right?" Jen confirmed, taking another swig.

"Stop drinking; I need someone to substitute when I fall asleep," Michael scolded.

Jen rolled her eyes at him, smiling a little. She was a little drunk, too; she'll laugh at anything as well. "When are you going to tell the guys about this perfect month sh*t?"

"I don't know." Michael shrugged his shoulders. "But for now it'll be our secret."

"Our dirty little secret." Jen scoffed, then laughed at her pun.

"Our puns are terrible," Michael said, giggling.

"Did you just f*cking giggle?"

"Yeah, we need to go to sleep."

25 Minutes - Shift change

Since it was still eight o'clock, there were still a few cars. Michael swerved at the next turn and parked at the nearest rest stop. The pair got out of the front seats and opened the door to the back and shook Calum and Luke awake.

"What do you guys want?" Luke asked drowsily, rubbing his eyes.

"Shift change," Jen and Michael chorused.

Calum sat up, running a hand through his tousled hair. "Is it already?"

"Yep," Michael replied. "Oh, and we nearly hit a cow, but meh."

"Is the cow all right?" Luke asked, burying his head in the pillow, drifting away again.

"That's what you're worried about?" Jen raised her eyebrow, shaking her head.

Michael and Jen grabbed Calum's and Luke's arms and practically dragged them out of the backseat.

"Gerroff," Luke grumbled, the words barely understandable.

Since the two guys were reluctant to wake up, Michael and Jen went back to the front seats and grabbed the ice from Jen's beer.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL MOTHERF*CKING F*CK?!" Calum cursed, flipping the two off. "Fine! Lucas'll drive."

"Why do I get to drive?" Luke groaned in annoyance.

"Because I suffered six hours," Calum reasoned.

"Okay, Mr and Mrs, time to drive!" Jen perkily said, clapping her hands.

"For my girlfriend you seem to hate me," Luke joked, finally sitting up and kissing Jen on her cheek.

Hour 14 - Speak Now; Taylor Swift

As Luke got in the driver's seat clumsily, Calum grabbed the ice cold water from under the seat and opened it, splashing the freezing liquid in the blue eyed boy's face. Luke's eyes widened as he shivered slightly. "F*ck you," he told his best friend who was snickering at Luke's reaction.
