Subaru and Emilia traveled to The Sanctuary along with Otto to find Master Roswaal with Ram and the villagers

Inside the carriage, Subaru notices Emilia's nervousness and realized that this will be the first time Emilia goes to The Sanctuary and will meet another of her 'kind.'
Subaru touches her hand and said calmly "It will be alright, I am here with you. If anything happens I'll protect you, " then smiles.
Emilia, being nervous, gently calms as she holds Subaru's hand and said "Thank you for protecting me, Subaru." then asks, "Subaru? Why are you always like this? Why do you always protect me? I really can't stop thinking about why you would protect someone like me."
Subaru looking surprised saying, "I uhh.. don't really.. know what to say haha." with a hint of sadness over his face.
But then He became serious "But I do love you." he jokingly added, "I know I can't tell much and I'm really sorry for that but I swear I--"
Upon entering the border of The Sanctuary, the necklace that Roswaal gave to Emilia suddenly glows bright white. With no idea why, Subaru then called out to Emilia but it was too late.
Emilia woke up in an unfamilliar place with just plain fields but as she turns around, someone behind her says "Welcome."
"It is nice to meet you Emilia. My name is Echidna, the Witch of Greed." she said as she holds a tea cup on top of a round table.
Emilia mutters "The Witch of Greed, Echidna?"
Echidna then creates another chair infront of her and said "Why don't you have some tea with me?"
Emilia is hesitant but she still walks toward her and sat down "What do you want from me?" she asked, with an hostile look towards The Witch.
"What do I want from you? You are the one who came here actually. I am the Witch of Greed, I possess knowledge far more that you can imagine about this universe, you must have come here to ask something did you not?" Echidna exclaims.
Emilia became lost in thought "I came here? How? The necklace, it must be." but then one question came up to her mind.
"Well I do have a question, " Emilia proclaimed.
"Very well but you must first drink this tea," Echidna said as she gives a new tea cup to Emilia.
"Why should I? I don't trust you. You might've poisoned it," says Emilia, full of disbelief.
"Do I look like such a bad witch to you? It has been years since I've had someone to talk to and now you think I would poison you?" Echidna desperately said, pouting as if she is a child. "Well, blame you for not trusting a stranger you just met."
"Then why?" Emilia clearly asks.
"You'll know after you drink, " Echidna explained.
Emilia slowly drinks the tea.
"I'm surprised. You did drank it, you drank a stranger's tea. You're quite brave you know?" Echidna playfully said, putting his palm infront of her lips
"Well I am desperate to know the answer to my question." Emilia said straightly after drinking the tea.
Emilia felt a sudden pulse out of her body then dissipates.
"what happened, what did you made me drink?" Emilia exclaimed, she was freaked out.
"Relax. It's a potion so that we can speak to each other with no Interference, if you hadn't drink that, you would have died as we talk about the knowledge you seek but I'm impressed, you handled that side effect pretty well." Echidna smirks.
"Now tell me, what do you want to know? The secret to riches? Fame? The Nine Witches? Or about the Kingdom of Lugunica?" Echidna asks.
"I want to know about Subaru's past. I want to know about everything you know about him," Emilia stated, she was serious.
Echidna smirks. "oh.." she whispered.
"You want to know everything huh? But will you be able to handle all of it, I wonder?" Echidna loudly speak her thoughts to her.
"I will. Even if I can't, I must." Emilia exclaims, "I must know." She thought to herself.
"Very well then. I will show you the fragments of his memories," Echidna stated as she holds a ball of water that contains moving memories of Subaru, "You will now enter my realm."
