Nov 28, 2019: Intramural Opening Day

It started like any other day. Woke up at 4, ate breakfast, took a shower, brushed my teeth, and wore a white shirt and jogging pants since it wasn't a normal school day. Packed my bags with the basketball jersey I was going to switch to before the opening ceremony, a pen in case I needed it, water and some gummy bears if I ever get hungry. Finally get picked up by the bus and headed to school. An hour later I arrive and went straight to the classroom. I got my phone and went to Messenger to ask Lillian where she was. She then told me that she just left her house, it wasn't too bad because she still had an hour before they had to go the gymnasium. It was different for the players, we had to go 30 minutes before everyone else and couldn't bring anything with us. I asked if she could bring my bag, which was super light, with her when she gets to the classroom which she was reluctant about at first but she eventually agreed. I left my bag on my seat, and told Leia, her best friend, to give it to her when she comes. I went with my classmates, who were players, down the stairs and walked towards the covered court where all the Junior High School players will wait.

We all waited while bored to shits because we didn't have our phones, well actually, some of the students snuck their phones with them but they had to sneakily use it so it wouldn't get confiscated. The rest of us just sat and waited for 30 minutes while waiting for the non players to start arriving to the gymnasium.
30 minutes later, people finally start arriving. First were the 7th graders, then the 8th graders. The 9th graders arrived and we all looked outside to our classmates, shouting at each other for fun. I looked for Lillian to see if she had my bag and luckily she did. They passed and we all sat back down as the 10th graders arrived. We then got instructions on what grade level and team come first, as some teams had 2 sections mixed except the 7th and 8th Graders. We were then told to rearrange places so going into the gym was easier for everyone.
