The next day, Hayley had to wake up super early to go into work at Good Dye Young, so she made a quick breakfast and then gave Alf his food, too.
"I'm sorry I have to leave you, baby. I promise I'll come home as soon as I can, okay?"
Alf just looked at her with his adorable brown eyes as she kissed the top of his head and walked out the door to go to work.
In the middle of the day, Hayley was swamped with work, so she asked her mother, Cristi, if she could go over to her house to let him outside and give him a treat afterwards. She was relieved to hear her mom agree because she felt bad leaving her child alone all day and wondered if she should've brought him to work with her. Surely, the team wouldn't mind.
As busy as she was at work, Hayley's mind drifted off to Taylor quite a bit, but she told herself to stop and focus.
Around 6pm, Hayley finally left the office and headed on home. She listened to mewithoutyou on the way and felt at peace to know how productive she had been today.
When she unlocked her front door, she was greeted with the happy face of Alf and his excited tail at the sight of seeing his favorite human.
"Hey, Alfie! How are you? I missed you so much today."
She fed him dinner and looked through her phone, trying to decide where she should get hers. As she sat down on the couch, Hayley slightly groaned when she felt something under her and sat up to see what it was.
It was Taylor's wallet. He clearly left it here last night, but Hayley was confused as to why he didn't text her about it. She decided to go drop it off at his house and surprise him and maybe by then she'll have picked a place to grab dinner.
She thought it was ironic how much she had been thinking of Taylor all day and now she was about to see him because of his forgetfulness.
His car was parked in the driveway, so he was home. This made surprising him even better.
She got to his doorstep and knocked with a musical tone.
Taylor was surprised to see Hayley standing in front of him with her hand behind her back and a smile plastered upon her face as he opened the door.
"Hi!" she said. "Guess what you left at my house?" Hayley loved the way his curls were sprawled out across his forehead and had to force her eyes to look away from them.
He shook his head to clarify he had no idea what it was.
She finally pulled her hand out from behind her back and revealed his wallet. Taylor rolled his head back when he saw it. "Shit, I didn't even know I left it there. I haven't left the house the entire day. Thank you."
They both shared a laugh over the situation and Hayley said, "You're welcome. I think you might need that at some point." She laughed again and she took a step back to show that she would now be leaving, but Taylor stopped her.
"Hey, have you eaten dinner yet?"
"Uh, no, I haven't"
"Did you wanna come inside and I can make us something?"
Hayley couldn't refuse the beautiful man in front of her. "Sure! That sounds great. I was actually planning on going out by myself, but a home cooked meal from Taylor York? Count me in."
He smirked at her cuteness and lead her inside by putting his hand on her back, which she definitely didn't mind.
When Hayley walked towards his living room, she asked him what he did all day if he didn't leave the house.
