Charlie's POV

"Why mom?" I asked towering over her at the diner counter. The ducks and I where eating when my mom came over and told me that my cousin is staying with us for a while.

"Because Charlie I promised Rick that I would take care of Candice." My mother replied.

"It's so not fair I get a scholarship to a great school and this just ruins it." I say. "It's not fair."

"Honey, life's not fair." She said and walked away to fill up a persons cup of coffee. Well this blows.

I walked back to where the ducks sat and plopped down in my seat.

"What's up?" Connie asked. Connie always knows when something's wrong with us guys. It like she can read our minds.

"Nothing." I said looking down at my milkshake. "Well, my cousin from South Africa is staying with us for four years." I said rolling my eyes.

"Oh that's not so bad maybe he'll like hockey." Connie said.

"Yeah, except there's one flaw to the plan he's a GIRL!" I said slightly yelling.

"Oh, we'll I'm a girl and I like hockey." Julie joined in.

"I know but down south in region they don't exactly have ice rinks." I said.

"Hey how about we go with you when you go to pick her up." Connie said placing her hand on my shoulder.

"Okay." I said. "Even you Dean want to go." I said jokingly.

"Sure, why not." He said staring some blonde waitresses ass as she walked by. Adam smacked him on the back of his head.

"Alright it's settle then meet me at my apartment and then we will head to the airport." I said.

"What time?" Adam asked.

"About 5 pm." I said.

"Okay then I will see you guys later." I said and walked out of Mickey's Diner. I headed towards the apartment that I share with my mom. I walked up the stairs unlocked the door and tripped over a box. What the...

I looked at it said Candice's name on it and desk supplies. Ugh this girl is almost taking over my life. Then I took off my converse and walked into my bedroom and lied down for a short cat nap.

"Charlie." "Charlie." "Charlie." My mothers voice boomed through my head.

"What mom." I said rolling over on my stomach.

"Mom?" The voice laughed.

"It's Dean." The voice kept laughing and I forced my eyes to open and I saw my entire ice hockey team towering over me laughing their asses off.

"I can't believe you thought I was your mom." Dean said cracking up.

"Alright come on sleeping beauty let's go." Adam said pulling up onto my feet. I grabbed my converse and put them on. We split into two cars Connie's and Adam's.

I sat in the back with flowers and a welcoming card my mom had prepared. Corny I know right. After tons of annoying traffic and stop lights we arrived at the airport.

I knew that Candice had a photo of me but I didn't have a photo of her. This was going to be harder than I expected.

Candice's POV

I was woken by a flight attendant shaking me telling me to get up the flight landed.

"Miss it's time to wake up we landed in Minnesota." She said. I forced my eyes open and stretched.

I stood up and picked up handbag and opened the compartment above me and took out my carry-on suitcase.

After a bunch of people walked past me I walked down the narrow isle and walked to the entrance of the terminal. I walked down the gray-ness of the terminal until I walked on the tile flooring of the airport. Then I reached into my handbag and pulled out a picture of Charlie.

I kept walking through the airport to go pick up my pet bird. I was waiting on the long line when I saw that familiar bushy brown hair.

"Miss, miss." The woman's voice behind the desk kept yelling my name. I focused my attention on the woman at the desk and handed her my ticket with Jerry's PIN number on it.

"Alright I will be right back." She said heading towards the back room where all of the animals are. I turned around and kept my eyes set on the young boys back head. He turned around and to my disappointment it was not Charlie.

The woman came back with Jerry and I grabbed his cage and gave her a 'thank you.' I walked away and went to retrieve my other bags from the luggage carousel. As I was waiting I heard somebody yell "Charlie wait up we've been walking forever!"

I saw my luggage and grabbed it and yelled for Charlie.

"Charlie?!" I yelled across the airport. A group of boys and two girls turned around. The tallest of the group turned smirked and licked his lips. My cheeks turned a crimson color and I looked down.

"Candice?" Charlie asked. I nodded in a response.
