Ethan
I should've kissed her. It was the perfect moment with Emma, and I should've kissed her.
We had a great time at breakfast. Emma was getting along great with my cousins, and I can tell they were all having fun in their conversations. The only thing I cared about was how pretty her smile was.
Breakfast got over around noon, and Emma and I helped clean the table and the dishes before we had to get ready for the wedding.
Emma was doing her makeup in our room while I was getting changed in the bathroom. Once I was done, I walked back in and asked Emma if she could tie my tie.
She smiled, standing up and taking the tie from my hands. "Don't you already know how to tie a tie?" She asked suspiciously.
I shrugged. "Maybe I thought it'd be cuter if you did it for me."
She put the tie under my collar before tying it and adjusting my collar back down. "There you go, pumpkin."
"Pumpkin?"
"If I'm monkey, you have to be pumpkin."
"Anything for you, monkey."
Emma scoffed, walking over to her dress which was hanging up in a garment bag. She unzipped the bag and carefully got her dress off of its hanger. Then she walked towards the bathroom and shut the door behind her.
I messed with my hair in the mirror by the dresser as I waited for Emma.
About fifteen minutes later she emerged from the bathroom, and I felt my whole life begin again.
She was the start to a whole new world.
Her hair was gently curled, and she had it tied up in a fancy half-up hairstyle with two front pieces framing her face. Her makeup went perfectly with her dress, and with her eyes, and I knew I could never let her be someone else's. I was gonna make her mine no matter how long I had to wait, or how long Emma needed.
At this point I would do anything just to see her smile. I was almost foolish for her.
"You look--wow. Emma, I don't even know what to say." I said, almost out of breath from simply looking at her. She was a princess. "You're beautiful." I said.
Emma smiled, moving past me before she grabbed her shoes and sat on the bed to put them on. I still couldn't stop staring at her. She just looked so amazing, and her body was igniting a fire in my soul simply by existing in that dress.
"Thank you, pumpkin. You look really handsome."
My. Heart.
"You really like calling me that, don't you?"
Emma nodded before she stood up, just about three inches taller than her usual height. She walked over to me, and started playing with my tie. "Yeah." she said. "I can't be the only one with a cheesy pet name."
Finally she looked up at me, and all I wanted to do right there was kiss her. We were standing close enough, and I was dying to.
"I really wanna kiss you, but I don't want to mess up your lipstick."
She smiled. "Good thing it's kiss-proof."
"Good enough for me." I said, leaning closer to her.
Of course we were interrupted for the second time today. It was my mom knocking on the door and saying we needed to hit the road soon.
I opened the door and told my mother we'd be there in a second before I walked over to Emma and gave her a chaste kiss on the lips. "We'll have time for more later." I said.
