I look over my locker door and smile. Of course it's my best friend, Rogue Cheney. The one and only idiot who would come up to me running and yelling in the hallway...
Well... besides Natsu... and Gray... and Sting... and Gajeel... and— well, you get my point.
He leans on the locker next to mine as he catches his breath. "What's up?" I ask while fixing my hair. Once I was done adjusting my white headband, I closed the door and looked at Rogue with a smile.
"Oh, I was just wondering if you were going to watch basketball practice? I mean, it's totally okay if you can't—"
"Shut up, you're rambling again," I laugh, "and yes. I'll be there."
He gave me a small smile, "I'll pick you up after fourth period so we could get some snacks." —————
As I was putting away my books in my locker, the same thing happened again. Running, yelling, and all that shenanigans.
"Wait a minute, just let me get my textbooks..." I sighed.
We went to the 7-eleven across the street to get some candy and chips, practice was in an hour, so we were fine.
We went back onto school campus and sat under a tree while eating and doing homework. He annoyed me a few times by doodling random hearts around the paper and giving me the wrong answers.
Fifty minutes go by.
"Kagura, could we get going?" Rogue asked.
I hummed in response as I placed my books back in my backpack, we walked to the gym and parted ways when he needed to go change. I made my way over to the bleachers where the other girls were.
Lucy; Natsu's 'best friend' and captain of the volleyball team.
Juvia; Gray's girlfriend. Thank god she outgrew her stalking phase, she also happens to be the captain of the swim team.
Levy; Gajeel's 'best friend'. She helps out at the library in her free time.
Erza; My protective older sister who's dating Jellal, the president of the student council.
Wendy; The youngest one out of all of us. She's 'best friends' with Romeo and quite shy.
Yukino; Part of the volleyball team and Sting's girlfriend.
We talked and laughed for a few minutes until the team came out, Rogue ran up to me and quickly gave me a small box.
"What's thi-"
"We're going to the park later. There's something I've been meaning to tell you. Also, don't open the box yet." he interrupted.
I blush and nod. Once he left, the girls all teased and questioned me... Erza... well, she was glaring at Rogue the whole practice.
Rogue glanced my way a few times, I smiled and gave him a thumbs up.
I just imagined kagura yelling, "YOU'RE DOING GREAT SWEETIE!" 👁👄👁.
During their break, the guys— mostly Sting, tackled him outside.
Meanwhile, the girls literally bombed me with questions. "Oh my gosh, okay. What do you think it is?" Yukino asked.
"Juvia thinks Kagura-san is in love~" Juvia rambled.
"If he tries anything funny, his a*s is getting beat," Erza threatened. ——————
—After practice—
We walked around the park talking about our day and joking around. He led us to the bridge that looked over the playground and held my hand as he turned to face me.
"Kagura, open the box," he said. I nodded and opened it... it was a necklace with a golden dragon pendant.

"You really didn't have to," I sighed and smiled, "but thank you. It's beautiful."
He returned the smile and put the necklace on me. I turn around and tilt my head, "So what's up?"
He took a deep breath, "Promise you won't get mad and you'll still be my best friend."
I raise an eyebrow, "Sure? Why wouldn't I?"
Oh my god. Is this where he tells me he likes a girl and he's going to ditch me for her? What if he needs love advice? Oh my god, he went to a party last week. Maybe he's pregnant? Wait, what?
"I've loved you since middle school, and I still do," he confessed.
I look at him and blink a couple of times before smiling and hugging him. "Oh my god, I thought you were going to leave me to hang out with some other girl," I laugh.
We broke the hug and he blushed. "So, would you like to be my girlfriend? And maybe go somewhere to get ice cream?" He awkwardly asked.
