Save Me : An OhmFluke Story

The timer Fluke set on his phone rings and he quickly turns it off to avoid waking up Ohm, who is asleep soundly next to him. He quietly slips out of bed, grabs his phone and the backpack he hid under his bed a few hours earlier and goes downstairs. He grabs the keys to his car and silently slips out of the house.

Ever since Fluke's experience in the parking garage, he's on edge. He can barely sleep for longer than an hour so during the day he always seems to be in a bad mood. Fluke can tell his friends are struggling too, but they keep smiles on their faces for his sake. Fluke knows the way he's feeling isn't going to go away, not until he gets closure.
That's his mission for tonight.

Fluke inputs the address for where they took Mint, info he stole from Boun's cellphone, into his GPS and begins the journey. Fluke hopes none of his friends discover his disappearance or they'll freak out, but Fluke has to do this one thing. He needs to know that Mint is dead and gone from his life for good.

The drive is easy due to there not being many cars on the road and he makes it there in under an hour. Fluke parks down the street from the actual building and walks the rest of the way. He pulls the hoodie over his head and throws on a facemask for good measure. Yes, he's overly cautious but he doesn't want to take any chances.

Once inside the actual building, Fluke feels his heart in his stomach. It's very dark so he pulls the flashlight from his backpack and turns it on. It takes a few minutes of stumbling around over all of the trash and rubble, but soon Fluke finds the mound he's heard Boun and Kao talk about. It's pretty well-hidden and looks like just another mess, but Fluke recognizes the plastic they took from his garage to wrap Mint in. He sets up the flashlight on the ground to shine on where he starts to uncover, throwing the cement pieces to the side with haste. He wants to confirm Mint's death as soon as possible and return to his bed and Ohm.
Fluke pauses once the plastic is completely uncovered, trying to give himself a pep talk to actually unwrap it and look.

"You need to do this, Fluke." He whispers out loud to himself. "You know what's in there. Your freedom. Do it, now!"

Fluke takes a deep breath and quickly pulls back the plastic.

"Oh my god..." Fluke stumbles backward, hand over his mouth in shock.

There's nothing there.

Fluke scrambles around in a panic, throwing the rubble everywhere as he searches frantically, but finds nothing.

"What the fuck? What the fuck?!" Fluke shouts as he starts to cry. Why would they lie to him? Was Mint ever really dead?

A million questions run through Fluke's mind as the feelings of betrayal and confusion fill him up. He understands if Kao got too scared to go through with burying Mint or if Boun changed locations and didn't tell him but Ohm...Fluke never thought Ohm would lie to him. Especially when it concerns Mint.

Fluke takes his phone from his pocket with shaking hands and calls Boun, who he knows won't lie to his face. He's known Boun for the longest and he's been closest to him so he trusts Boun the most right now.

"Hello? Fluke? Why are you calling me at 3 in the morning? Are you okay?" Boun asks tiredly.

"Uh, uh, I need you." Fluke cries, his voice shaking. "Right now. Please."

"Okay..? Where are you?" Boun asks, already getting out of bed and gets dressed. He can hear the upset in Fluke's voice and even though he has no context, knows his best friend needs him right now.

"I'll send you my pin. Please hurry." Fluke says and hangs up, not bothering to wait for Boun to reply.

Fluke takes a few pictures of the empty burial sight before running out of the building to his car. He drives a little ways away before parking on the side of the road and sends Boun his location. Within half an hour, Fluke sees Boun's car and he pulls up next to him. Fluke gets out of his car and marches up to Boun as he gets out of his.
