Moving on after the squabble that Derek and I had I start to get to know Ebony more, maybe on a personal level. To the point where she's kicking me under the table and I am playing along, acting as if it's not happening.
"Cj I have a question." She says putting her drink down.
"Shoot" I say eyeing her a bit.
She sighs and gets her thoughts together.
"No never mind I sound stupid."
A little confused, maybe she's shy..
"Would you like to know something Ebony? A personal secret of mine." I say.
She nods.
"People might call me crazy and stupid, but I've always wondered why we don't see in color and only a handful of people do, what's it like to see the world in color, is it beautiful or is there a reason why we can't see in color, and why are only certain people gifted with this marvelous ability?" I wait for her to call me stupid and walk away, but I'm actually surprised.
"I actually wonder the same thing too, I mean... Is there a reason we don't see in color..?" She eyes me cautiously.
I smile loving the connection I made with her, as the bell rings to end that lunch is over.
"Cj meet me in the band room after school I wanna show you something." She smiles and stands on her tip toes to kiss my check before running off.
Wow. I think I like this girl, I say to myself as I feel a tingle where she kissed me.
