Au where there's no Endgame, no civil war, no infinity war, but Morgan still exists because Tony decided to marry Pepper and have a child. May is dead (Sorry, May!) because cancer is a b*tch. Swearing, btw. Morgan was born when Peter was fourteen, and is now three. (Yeah idk either.)
It had started with a joke insult that Steve had made. Peter had laughed. It was a simple joke about how much he had to eat. And he had admitted, it was a lot. Then one thing led to another, and Peters entire time at home when he wasn't with Tony was insults, shoves, and just horribleness. Peter had tried to tell them to stop. He really had. He just couldn't tell the strongest people in the universe to stop shoving him, a seventeen year-old child, around. School wasn't much better, as Flash was there to kick him around. The only thing that kept Peter happy was his time with Tony, and that had also slipped away since Morgan had joined the team. Every moment with him was precious, especially since aunt May had died. But now even that time was basically non existent. Peter didn't even realize he was depressed until he nearly jumped off a building.
That was a fun day.
The point is, Peter really isn't feeling great. Everything is crumbling, and he's trapped underneath it. It's like the falling warehouse, but worse because there really isn't a way out. Well, there wasn't until an option had unearthed itself just a week before.
Peter was on patrol in the early hours of the morning. 4, 5am? Anyway, he came across a smol child who seemed sleep deprived and looked like she'd been crying for hours.
"Why hello." Peter said, speaking softly. "Who are you?"
"O- oh, Spider-Man!" The child sniffed. "I'm Oak."
"Well, Oak, what are you doing out in the streets?" Peter asked kindly, kneeling down to her level.
"I- I ran away after my parents didn't a- accept that I'm nonbinar- y- y." The girl trailed off in sobs.
"Hey hey, it's okay! SpideyBoi will help you! Come with me." Peter said, seeming calm and collected on the inside as he led them to the police center.
So that's how he decided to run away. He could go to MIT and be Spider-Man there as well. Peter could- Peter could-
