After Sophie and Tam get married (assuming Sophie lives that long), and move on together, they decide, like most other elves, to share a bedroom. However, neither of them is really accustomed to sleeping with another person. For the first few nights, Sophie sleeps on the couch (this couch is mentioned in several future oneshots, and depicted in this fanart), but it isn't very comfortable, and she doesn't get much sleep. Tam realizes that she isn't getting any sleep out there, and convinces her to move into the bedroom. Since elves have really huge beds, they each picked a side and slept in the very edge, leaving a good foot of space between them. Every night they would fall asleep like this, and every morning Tam would wake up in the same place, only with Sophie cuddled up against him.
This went on for many months before they accepted that they were a couple, and it was okay to fall asleep on each other's arms.
