Warning: Some homophobic parts because Louis is stupid.

I couldn't sleep at all that night. I had way too much energy.

My phone was next to my bed and I decided to play a game or something else. Then I saw I had a message from Elliot.

'Hey, you still up?'

I was surprised but then I realised that that was probably the reason why he had those bags under his eyes. Not that I didn't have them.

'Yeah. Can't sleep. Why're you still up?'
'Same thing. Hey, Uhmm, I wanted to ask you something.'
'Ask away-'
'Did you have fun today? Or well, yesterday. I mean, you said you did but I just want to make sure.'
'What- Yes! Of course, I had fun! Otherwise, I wouldn't want to do something again don't you think?'
'Oh okay, that's a relief. I was wondering, by the way, I had something I wanted to show you. It's close to school and I thought maybe I could show you Monday morning right before the sun comes up. I mean- only if you want to!'
'Oh? Sure! Which time though?'
'Around 6 am? The sun usually comes up at 6.15 am so that seems like a reasonable time.'
'Okay, see you then!'
'You don't need to ask your mother?'
'Nah, I'll just say I felt like going to school early, she'll take it.'
'Haha, okay, see you Monday then I guess!'
'See you! :)'

It kind of made me relax to talk to someone and I finally fell asleep.

The next morning it was Saturday. I looked at my alarm clock and it showed 2 pm. I slept long. I decided I should go down and eat something.

"Oh, you're up!" My mom looked up from the pan she was cooking in and greeted me with a smile.

"Yeah, what are you making?" I was curious because most of the time it's my father who cooks. My mother is good, but my father is better. "I was trying a recipe I found online. It's just a simple omelette, but fluffy on the inside. I thought I could surprise you." She smiled and gave me her phone so I could see the recipe. "Thanks, mom, it looks good." I wasn't lying, it looked good.

I noticed that my father wasn't anywhere, but I figured he must be at the store. "Your father went to the store by the way, in case you were wondering." I turned to my mother with a surprised look. Why does she always know everything I think? I think it's a power only mothers have.

Later in the day, I saw a pile of homework on my desk and decided to finish it quickly because I didn't want to do it tomorrow.

Normally, I do my homework with ease, but this time, it was difficult. I knew that my mother wasn't the best at this subject and my father was at the supermarket. That meant I had no one to ask.

Then I remembered Julia. I quickly texted her. She was my best friend for ten years now. That means we have been friends since we were nine! I knew she was a little less smart than me, but maybe she did understand it, you never know.

'Hey Jules, do you understand question five from geometry? I don't understand at ALL....'
'And you ask me? I haven't even begun.'
'Could you at least check?'
'Fine. Gimme a sec.'

It was dissapointing that she hadn't begun yet, but I could always ask Elliot if she didn't understand. I don't know if he understands this either, but it would be worth a shot.

'Nope, I don't understand this at all. Sorry, bro.'
'Nah it's fine. I'll ask Elliot then.'
'Elliot, you mean your new bestie?'
'He's not my 'bestie', you know you are. Why?'
'Nothing... You are just hanging out with him a lot. Is there something I don't know of?'

'What- No! Ew! I'm not gay! You know I'm not like those creeps!'
'Stop saying that! They are not creeps! Plus, I was only messing with you. Calm down. I gotta go. Mom's calling me. See you later.'

I loved Julia, but thinking that those gross people aren't creepy is something she was so wrong at.

I messaged Elliot after. He answered fast and helped me immediately. He said that I was lucky because it is the only subject he's good at.

After he helped me, I finished homework and it was already 5 pm, so I went downstairs. Turned out that my mother was already working on dinner and was just about to call me down.

We ate and I went upstairs again. It was 7 pm but I already felt exhausted. I put on my pyjamas and fell on my bed.

In the middle of the night, I woke up and couldn't fall asleep that easy again, so I messaged Elliot. He was also still awake, so we talked for about an hour. Then we said goodnight because we were both getting tired. I fell asleep almost instantly.

When I woke up the day after, I was a bit hungry. Even though I had just eaten some leftovers from my mother's pancakes from the day before, which were delicious.

I didn't feel like making a meal and my mother already made me something yesterday, so I decided to go to Au Vieux Paris d'Arcole. They have good food and I don't have to do anything so it was a win-win.

When I arrived at the cafe, I saw Elliot sitting there. Right by the entrance, next to the Wisteria plant that was growing on the building next to him. I decided to surprise him.

"BOO!" I sneaked up at him and grabbed him at his shoulders. "AH- Oh- You startled me. What are you doing here?" He was still calming down but turned a bit to look at me.

I changed my position so he wouldn't have to turn his whole neck around. "I stalked you and followed you here." he looked at me with a concerned face, while he clenched his hands on the chair he was sitting on. "Of course not, dumbass. I wanted to eat and was too lazy to make it myself, then I saw you here."

"Oh god. You scared me. Do you, uh, want to eat together?" He pointed to the chair in front of him. "Sure!" After settling down I ordered something and we started talking.

"It's good that you're here though cause I  wanted to ask, why are you always up late? Like, you texted me late last night and the night before. Do you have trouble sleeping or something?"
