The ride was awesome. I thought motorcycles were scary, but it was refreshing. I just held onto Elliot. The wind was flowing through my curled hair which made me feel comfortable. I was kind of disappointed when we arrived because I wanted to keep on driving.
When we got to school, we spent almost the whole day together, besides the classes that we didn't have together, of course. We ate together at breaks. Sadly, Julia couldn't make it because she was sick, so Elliot and I sat alone.
After school, we talked about our sleepover and decided we should go to his home right at that moment. I messaged my mother to tell her she didn't need to make me dinner and then we left on his motorcycle. I was excited to be on it again.
His house was surprisingly clean. I had expected it to be messy since he didn't seem like the guy to clean up his house often, not like it's a bad thing if he didn't. He looked at me. "Do you want to go upstairs? My mom will be home soon. She won't bother us if we're there." I was kind of interested in what his room looked like. "Okay."
We walked up a few stairs. That was when I noticed that the house was huge. His room was big and there were posters of bands everywhere. There were a lot of rock and roll ones, but only one stood out to me. Bottles of paper? "Hey what is this band?" I knew all those bands except for that one, so I just asked. "Oh, They are an infamous Indie Rock band. I love them so much. I know all of their songs." I didn't know he could be so excited about anything.
"Really, can I listen to one of them?" "Sure." He took out his record player and the record itself from his closet and turned it on. Then the first note began to play. I looked at the list of songs. Elliot was singing along to all their songs. He was pretty good. I mean he wasn't Freddie Mercury, but he was still good.
While it was playing we started up the game. "This is pretty good." I admitted. "I told you so." We listened to a bit more of their music until his mother came home. She wanted some peace and quiet so we turned the music off.
Elliot and I played a few more games and then went down to eat. His mother made us chicken wings and some fries. She had to get back to work quickly so she made it fast. It tasted fine though. She left not long after eating with us. She asked me a few questions of what I am to her son which was kind of weird, because what else could I be to her son? I replied by telling her I was his friend. She said that it was nice knowing he had friends at school. He found it hard at other schools to make friends.
When we ate and his mother left, we cleaned up and I drank some tea, while he drank coffee.
"Okay, favourite band. Go." Elliot said. "Uhm, Loud cough I think. What about you?" I replied. "Well, you already know about all the posters. It's Bottles of paper"
"Yeah, I was expecting that."
We asked more questions like our favourite songs and artists and then went to his room to prepare my bed. After doing so, we brushed our teeth. I needed to change, but I didn't know where the bathroom was so he changed in there and I changed in his room. I honestly didn't care, since we were both guys, but he insisted so we decided on that.
Elliot knocked on the door. "Are you done changing?" He said. "Yeah almost, just a sec."
"Okay, yeah you can come in." Elliot opened the door. He wore a t-shirt and some shorts. I wore a undershirt and I had some old comfy trousers. Elliot and I played some more games and then we laid in bed.
It was quiet for a long time until Elliot said this: "Sorry, I tried to keep it in, but I have to ask.. Do you have a crush? I feel like you like Julia. A lot." The question kind of startled me, but I felt at ease with him so I responded. "I don't know. I would never rule out the possibility, but for now I'd rather stay friends with her. Romance is kind of boring to me."
"Oh. I thought you did, but if you say so." He said. "Well, what about you? Do you have a crush on anybody?" I asked it to tease him, but he took it pretty seriously. "I think I do but I'm not sure yet."
I was kind of shocked and wanted to know who it was, so I kept asking. "Then what does she look like?"
"They have blondish hair and are pretty average at everything not gonna lie. They are quite smart though. I'm not going to tell you any more than that." I tried to think of a girl who looked like that, but no one came to mind. I kept asking but gave up after some time.
We both fell asleep pretty quickly after that conversation.
In the middle of the night, I felt really cold. I tried to find an extra blanket but I couldn't find anything. I woke up Elliot. "It's freezing in my bed and I can't find a blanket, can I take one of yours?" I could see he was still half asleep because his eyes wouldn't even open. "Mhm, okay.." He replied. Yup, he's tired. I could hear it in his voice.
Quickly, I took an extra blanket and finally fell asleep.
When I woke up the next morning, Elliot was already out of bed. It was a Saturday and I could smell eggs, fruit, freshly baked bread and other things. I ran downstairs, as I got hungry from the smell.
"Oh, you're awake... Good morning!" Elliot smiled at me as he looked up from the eggs.
