Four days after I woke up from my coma, I literally begged the doctor if I could go home. I could not stand being in the hospital any longer than I was already there. The doctor eventually agreed and sent me home with numerous pain medicines and also a few oxygen tanks since one of the bullets pierced my left lung. It felt as if I had asthma and could never catch my breath at times, but other than that I was fine.
"Goddess, baby girl..." I heard my mom call from the door as she entered my room to see if I was up. I was up putting on clothes and getting ready to walk downstairs. Sometimes it actually hurt to move, but I'm a strong woman and I'm determined to move like my old self. I walked towards the door after struggle to put on one of my shoes and walked out with the other one in hand.
"Mama," I called out to her as I got in the hall to see she indeed disappeared. I shrugged and headed towards the stairs and began taking them one at a time. I was at the last few stairs and I begin stumbling a bit. Sometimes its hard to actually hold my balance, but I'm about to try and get off these stairs. The trying went down the drain as I felt myself slipping from the third step and I squealed loudly. I went tumbling down the last three stairs and thankfully it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it was. I got up quickly and headed to the kitchen for food where I could hear loud talking.
"Good morning!" I greeted everyone loudly as I went over to the pantry and tried to get my pop tarts down with my left hand since my right arm is still in the sling. I gave up after a few seconds and closed the pantry door and went and sat in the booth near the window. The skies were gloomy like my mood. This is beyond depressing because I'm right handed and I can't do anything. I can't even speed walk with having to use an oxygen because I can't breathe correctly at this moment.
"Girl, if you don't stop crying and eat this damn wildberry pop tart before I shove it down your throat." Ronnie spat at me as he put my pop tarts in front of me and I looked at him through blurry eyes and begin sobbing loudly.
"I can't do anything; I'm miserable." I sobbed but it actually came out as a bunch of gibberish. He sighed loudly before turning around and asking where my dad was. I got up from the booth and headed to the living room and laid on the couch. As I laid there I opted to head upstairs to my room and took the levator instead of the stairs. Once I was in my room I closed the curtains and got back in bed turning the tv on to BET plus and started watching one of Tyler Perry's plays. About 15 minutes into the play I felt myself starting to drift to sleep. This is what I need.
I know I heard my door open and soft talking. I felt movement around my bed, but I didn't want to wake up just yet. I heard my curtains being open and I felt the gloominess lighting up my room. I then felt a presence in my bed as they laid down with me and waited until I woke up. They were still talking softly, and they were talking about me. I peeked my eyes open to see Izzy sitting in the chair near my bed and I felt Princess behind me. Izzy got up from his chair and came over and squatted in front of me and I felt my eyes watering. I was so damn miserable right now.
"Don't you start crying." He softly spoke as he brushed my hair away from my face and I sat up against my headboard as the tears began falling from my eyes. Princess wrapped me up in a hug as I cried on her and Izzy rubbed my head trying to comfort me the best he can.
"Look sis, how about you come stay with Izzy and I? We will nurse you back to health since your wack ass uncles ain' doing the job." Princess said as she wiped my tears away with the napkin Izzy gave her.
"Yeah, and don't you worry about that Goddess. I always say I got your back even against family, and them niggas down there finna get these hands." Izzy angrily spat out as he began pacing the floor. "Don't worry about getting clothes or anything. We already got your room ready at the Penthouse, and we already got you some clothes." He said as he grabbed my Nike slides from the closet and slid them on my feet. I got out of the bed with his help and we headed downstairs. I can hear my daddy and godfather cursing my uncles out.
