Seattle was Charlotte Winston's worst nightmare. Charlotte's parents divorced when she was 10 and she fought tooth and nail to stay in Charming with her dad, Piney, while her mother, Mary, moved to Seattle.

Charlotte adored her hometown, Charming. It was a small town in Northern California where everyone knew each other and felt comfortable enough to keep their doors unlocked. This was through much help from her father's Motercycle club the "Sons of Anarchy" or SAMCRO as their charter was referred to. The bikers were outlaw but they kept trouble out of Charming.

Her dad was one of the first 9 who founded the club and it was all he knew aside from war. Her brother Opie patched into the club when he was 19 with his best friend Jax Teller, who was also a first 9 prodigy. His dad JT was president of the club until he died in '93.

After Mary left town Jax's mom, Gemma and step-dad, Clay, who was the current president of the club stepped up and helped raise Charlotte. Gemma became like a mother to her taking her in and giving her the love that only a mother could.

She loved and respected the club fully. Some people looked down on their outlaw lifestyle running guns with the Irish kings but to her they were family. That was until she was 16.

At 16 her dad, her brother and 3 other club members were locked up for felony weapons charges. The plan was that she stay with Gemma but her mother caught wind and hired a lawyer forcing her to move to Seattle.

She was devastated. 18 months later when her dad was finally released and tried to regain custody her mom put up a fight. It wasn't hard to convince a judge that she shouldn't be in Charming with her father who was just out of the joint on probation.

Her time in Seattle was terrible. From the very minute Mary drove a crying Charlotte away from Jax and Gemma to the airport she swore that she would return to Charming as soon as she possibly could.

Her mother sent her to every therapist, shrink and psychologist in the city of Seattle to try to make her see that Charming wasn't the place for her and that she shouldn't miss her old life but they only made her more sure of who her real family was. She knew that when she turned 18 there was nothing her mother could do to stop her from returning to Charming.

And that's what she did...

Two weeks after her high school graduation she hopped on a plane and hightailed her ass to Charming.

Jax Teller waited for her at the airport. He was the only one who knew when she was coming home. She tried to keep it a secret to surprise everyone but she couldn't keep secrets from him. He saw right through her. When he had attended her graduation two weeks before he knew something was up and demanded she tell him what she was up to.

Jax kept in close contact with her since she left calling every couple of days and visiting a few times a year, much to Mary's dismay.

Her friendship with Jax had just always been easy. They could talk for hours about nothing or sit in comfortable silence just the same.

She ran down the stairs at the airport to see his beaming white smile. She almost knocked him down as she jumped into his arms.

"Damn Darlin' it's only been two weeks!"

"But it's been two years since I've seen you in California." She laughed as he set her down.

"Well we better get you to Charming then, everyone is waiting."

"Jackson Nathaniel Teller! You told them?" She stopped in her tracks glaring at his dumb smirk.

"I'm kidding, relax Charlie. Nobody suspects a thing!"
