Ike's POV

The car ride to the restaurant was torture.

-Flashback-

"Uh, Marth, I think that yellow means to slow down, not speed up!" I grabbed my seat for dear life.

"Would you rather wait at a light for a few minutes?" Marth will be the death of me. Literally.

"Kay, baby, as much as I love you I must say, you shouldn't be driving. This is not remotely safe."

"Uh, I'm pretty sure I can drive. I mean, I always win at Mario Kart. I'm practically the world's greatest driver."

-Note- Me. Marth-sama is being me.

"Uh, hate to break it to you but Mario Kart isn't exactly a driver's ed course. Please drive slower and follow all rules of the road. I love you and don't want to see you explode." My eyes were still wide and I giggled out of fear.

-Note- Yes, that can happen. I have done that before.

"Fine. I'll go a bit closer to the speed limit. If I absolutely have to."

"Uh, I think you do absolutely have to. Ya know, so we don't die or anything?"

-Flashback over-

I stumbled out of the car, a bit dizzy from Marth's lovely driving, and Marth just walks out all fine, like "oh I totally didn't just risk any lives here, not mine, not my boyfriend's". We walked into the restaurant, which was empty like it usually was.

We chose a table that was really far back so that if people do come in they probably won't see us. Within a few minutes of us arriving a waiter came to take our drink orders. I ordered plum ramune. Marth ordered watermelon ramune.

-Note- If you haven't tried plum or watermelon ramune you are seriously missing out. Unless you don't like either of those. Another ramune flavor I recommend is called, I believe, Blue Hawaii or something of the like. Proof of its goodness is in the name. What does Hawaii even taste like? And when that taste is blue? These are the legitimate questions. Kay bye note over.

The waiter was a bit surprised that we said "ramune" with a Japanese accent. Probably because we're not very Japanese. Well, I'm not. Marth is about half Japanese on his mom's side. He's the one that got me into most of my fandoms.

After getting our ramune we ordered our food. I ordered chirashi and Marth ordered a salmon teriyaki bento box. Once again we surprised the waiter with accents.

-Note- Using Japanese accents at a Japanese restaurant is fun if you're not Japanese. Idk why, it just is.

"I like how the waiter doesn't expect us to use accents. Except maybe you since you're part Japanese." I said.

"Yeah, but I'm only half Japanese so I don't really have all the 'typical' Japanese features. I mean, my eye shape is about a combination of those of Far East Asians and Westerners." Marth pointed at his eyes. "Also my hair is really straight and even though it's dyed blue, it's naturally black."

"And then we have Ike, the one whose family is 100% Western. Also the one who took the time to learn Japanese."

"Yeah, because you were thirteen and thought I only spoke Japanese because you were thirteen." Marth giggled.

I start laughing awkwardly. It was embarrassing when I first tried to talk to Marth. I walked up to him and started slowly butchering the Japanese language. The accent was right, but the words were not. For example: I once said "Boku wa Nihongo janai desu." Translation: I am not a Japanese (language).
