NIALL'S POV

no, no, no, no, no, no, shit! We're stuck! Ohhhh, no. Okay Niall, you'll be fine, it's not that big of a deal, you'll get out of here safe and sound, it's ok. Just don't  freak out, you're not even alone!

Mind you that at this point I am freaking out, like, a lot... My breathing is accelerating and at the same time I just feel like I'm running out of air, my body wants to collapse and while all of this is happening I'm trying to appear calm so I don't scare the girl next to me because I don't want her to run away after I fall on the floor and have a breakdown like a 5 year old.

Moral of the story: 1- I am NEVER taking an elevator EVER again;

                                       2- I fucking HATE being claustrophobic;

                                       3- If I die, please tell-

And while I was writing my will in my mind, I hear a female voice talking to me: "Hey, are you ok?" she says in a very calming yet concerned tone "Yeah, I'm ok, don't worry, it's all good, I'm fine, thanks. How about you?"

"Oh, I'm ok. It's just that you're really pale and curled up in a corner, besides, you were saying a bunch of stuff about being a 5 year old and dying..."

MADISON'S POV

And that's when it hit me! He's pale, scared, talking fast and senseless and we're stuck in a small space, he must be claustrophobic.

What do I do? I need to distract him.

I sat down next to him and took a water bottle out of my little backpack that I always carry around like it's my child and offered him some.

"Do you want some water? It's pretty good, not too cold and not too warm you know?" wtf am I doing? describing water? geez, I'm lame, but it is true, that's great water.

"Sure, thanks."

He took the water and drank a little as if he was rationing it. Aww, that's so thoughtful of him. I smiled at him with a fond look on my face, but thankfully he didn't notice since he was still panicking quite a bit.

"So, what's your name?" I asked, trying to get his mind off of the fear.

"Niall, Niall Horan. You?" He answered with very little breath and tears forming in his eyes from the stress.

"I'm Madison."

"Pretty name." He said before flashing me a quick smile.

I was starting to feel useless and I really wanted to help him so I decided to bring in the big guns and do what I always do when my sister has panic attacks. I really hope she doesn't have any while I'm gone...

"This might be weird, but, sometimes, my sister lays her head on my lap to calm down and it really helps her, maybe it would help you too. I mean, if you want of cour-" I was cut off by a very eager response.

"Yeah, if you don't mind, thanks."

I stretched my legs and he laid his head on my lap, his hair smells really good and he's even more handsome up close. Niall's staring up at the ceiling, taking deep breaths while I run my fingers through his hair, before my mind starts to wander I decide to make small talk.

"Do you live here? You sure have the accent for it." I said before giggling slightly to lighten the mood.

"I was born here, but I actually live in between London and LA. I'm just visiting my family for a while, I needed a break from the big cities."

"Oh, cool. I'm here for vacation basically, I just really like to travel."

"Good choice, you're gonna' love Ireland!"

"You know what? I feel like I really am going to love Ireland.", I smiled, "Well Niall, you're a local so you are the perfect person to help me."

"At your service mademoiselle, what do you desire?"

Oh sweetie, if only you knew what I desire...

"Well, I really wanted to go somewhere tonight but I have no idea where, do you happen to know any pubs or anything like that?"

"Oh, you have come to the right place, I know all about pubs, I've probably been to all there are in Ireland!" Niall said as his eyes lit up talking about his home and the things he loves.

By now he was much more calm and composed, which was great, because I had already pressed the emergency button, but I still don't know how long we'll actually be in this elevator.

"Well, I recommend this pub that is about two blocks from here, it's great, all good vibes AND it's close to the hotel if you want to walk there so you can drink as much as you want."

"Sounds great! I guess I have plans for tonight, thanks, always wanted to take myself on a beer tasting date in Ireland!" as sarcastic as that may sound to you, I am truly excited to go beer tasting, beer has been growing on me lately.

After being overly excited about beer and making that useless comment, Niall seemed to have found my plans very amusing and he let out a very loud laugh that I didn't even know existed. Yet, it was so cute and contagious that I just felt like making him laugh forever so that my ears could be endlessly blessed.

"Well, those plans sound wonderful, but I have actually tasted all of the beers and know what the good ones are, so... How about I take you on a date and be your very Irish beer guide?"

My stomach flipped hearing that proposal and I couldn't help but smile. Well, come on, answer him stupid!

"I think that's an amazing idea. It's a date." I confirmed and smiled once more, he smiled back at me and I got momentarily lost in his eyes.

After snapping out of my small transe, I realised: I am going on a date with a guy I've known for less than an hour, and still, I have this weird feeling that this is one of the best decisions I will ever make.
