wednesday.

your least favorite day of the week.

the man began to type to you, saying,

?: good morning y/n. i see you haven't responded to my text. i just wanted to say, i hope your wednesday goes well. i know you don't like days like these.

he sent it, sliding his phone back in his hoodie pocket as he watched you pull out of your driveway and drive away.

you were already up and dressed, prepared to go and talk with spencer before work today. you left your house in your car almost positive spencer would be up. you pulled out of your driveway into the early morning. you rolled your windows up as soon as you felt the stinging of the crisp early day air against your cheeks and nose. you drove to spencer's apartment, using your memory to guide you. you arrived and parked at about 5:45 AM. you left your bag in your car as you got out, adjusting your white tee and black jeans. you nervously walked up to the lobby doors. your fingers hooked around the gold necklaces that hung around your neck, resting neatly on your collarbone. you flattened your shirt around your waist as you entered the lobby elevator. you pressed the button to the 7th floor, hugging yourself as a self soother.

you had to confront and talk to spencer about what you had found. popping a mint into your mouth, you stepped out of the opening elevator doors and turned to the right to walk down the hall. your feet finally stopped moving as you reached the door you recognized to be the entrance to his apartment. with a nervous sigh, you reached your hand up and knocked three times on his door. you quickly retracted your hand, holding your breath as you waited for an answer.

spencer was on his couch reading as he heard the knock. he looked up and towards the door in slight confusion. he set his book down and walked over to the door,

"who could be knocking this early?" he whispered to himself as he opened the door. he was already up and dressed, ready for work. to his surprise, he saw you.

your heart picked up its pace once again as you saw him,

"hey, spencer. can we talk?" you asked brusquely. spencer was slightly caught off guard by your bluntness,

"of course, come in." he said, stepping to the side. you stepped in and walked past him. he closed the door, scratching the back of his head,

"what's wrong?" he sighed. you crossed your arms,

"i didn't leave because i was sick." you said, blinking slowly. spencer sunk his shoulders,

"duh, y/n." he glanced at your finger, seeing the bandaid around it. he looked back up to meet your gaze. he licked his lips and zoned out as his eyes darted from side to side as he thought of what to say, but you interrupted,

"why, spencer? why? why didn't you tell me? why did you have it?" you spoke, your words fast and choppy. spencer swallowed hard, barely able to meet your gaze out of guilt. he slid his hands into his pockets and sunk back into himself slightly,
