Mirror

In a fading darkness I saw you.
A shadow of my past I cannot escape.
How can someone be your worst and best?
A perfect you from size to shape.

And it faced the mirror.
I saw how it smirked at me like I already lost.
It made me fear it even more
It made my burning emotion frost.

It had the look of the demon and I heard it murmur
"You're disgusting. You're pathetic. You ugly piece of nature!"

And I knew it was telling the truth
I cannot lie anymore
It's telling me the truth
My reflection on the mirror.
