****************CHASE

I can't believe I agreed to take the stupid thing to work. Hell, I can't even believe I've put up with it over the weekend. Who the hell designs something without an off switch? Fuck, if it wasn't for Kate and those stupidly adorable sad eyes, I would have thrown it out the window. And, well, it turns her on so there's that.
The doll is screaming even more here than it is at home, as soon as I do something for it and it settles it starts up again. I've taken to stuffing it under the couch cushions to muffle the sound, not that it does much. My head is starting to pound from the constant noise. I tried to palm it off the Verity, but she just laughed and walked off. Not being able to take it any longer I walk over to the couch and grab the screaming possessed doll from beneath the cushions just as the door opens. Ryder strolls in with a huge smirk on his face.
"Had to see this for myself." He says smugly. I grit my teeth and glare at him.
"The stupid thing doesn't have an off switch." I grumble. Ryder plonks down on the couch, seemingly oblivious to the obnoxious noise.
"How did Kate convince you to bring it to work with you anyway?" he asks. I sigh and put the doll on the table before starting to remove its diaper, or nappy as Kate calls it. Australians are weird.
"She gave me the sad eyes." I admit. Ryder chuckles and shakes his head.
"You're whipped." He comments. I don't say anything. I know I am, and for the life of me I don't know how to stop it. I just want Kate to be happy.
"Happy wife, happy life." I say. I pull the diaper completely off and put my hand over its rather impressive dick, I don't want a repeat of this morning.
"Wow... that things pretty big." Ryder states. I chuckle
"It's definitely well-endowed for a little guy... hopefully our son will be as blessed." I say. Ryder looks at me like he's in shock. "What?" I ask.
"You... you're actually thinking about kids?" Ryder asks. I shrug my shoulders. I won't lie, it's been on my mind lately, and not because of my grandfathers will. "This thing hasn't turned you off?" Ryder asks as he nods towards the doll. I think about that. While it's been a pain in my ass, I wouldn't say it's stopped the thoughts of having a child with Kate.
"Not really... can you see Kate trusting me with a real kid?" I ask. Ryder chuckles and shakes his head. "Besides, it'd be different being a real kid, and being my own." I continue. Ryder just grins at me.
"You've got it fucking bad. Look at you, Mr family man." He teases. I chuckle and run a hand over my face, not even bothering to deny it. Kate's only been in my life for less than 2 months and I honestly don't know how I lived without her before. I don't even miss the one night stands or scouting for talent with my brother. The thought of being with anyone but Kate making me nauseous.
"Won't deny that..." I mumble. Ryder claps my on my back as the doll starts screaming yet again.
"This is the happiest I've ever seen you. I'm glad bro." he states. I give him a grin and sigh as I look down at the screaming doll.
"You think this thing misses Kate?" I ponder out loud. Ryder laughs
"It's a doll." He reminds me.
"I know, but... fuck, it wasn't this bad over the weekend." I complain. I grab the doll and hand it to Ryder. "Be a good uncle and calm your nephew." I tell him. Ryder just laughs and pushes it away.
